This happens about once a week with different ships, always in sector space so far. Any change of place, transwarp, entering any battle, make ship visible again. It's actually one of these fun bugs that you maybe don't want to have fixed.

If you use the Competitive Prevailing Innervated Impulse Engines then it's bugging out some small ships especially the new one we just got. Haven't even had any floating in space since i switched it.
A decent alternative is the Lukari Combat Impulse Engines which works great with the Discovery Matter-Antimatter Core and the Tilly's Pending Shield, that gives a nice Hull Healing Bonus. The Lukari has Reactive Engine Technology so if you start getting really hit then it can get you out of the way fast and gives you another hull heal bonus, with a very cool impulse trail effect when it kicks in.
Not using that engine. Ship in the pic is Fleet Heavy Strike Wing Escort with Quantum Phase Combat engine. My other ship where I've seen this is Terran Monitor MW Carrier with Gamma Synergistic engines. But, like I said, it's only a visual anomaly and hasn't so far affected play.
This happens randomly has happened entering pve's and entering other maps as well as sector space, one time when I moved my ship the avatar walked in space.
I basicaly treat it as if it's meant to happen now.
