Shields Offline Build

Last night i noticed someone flying the Tamarian Deep Space Cruiser and we discussed the ship and build a bit.
https://www.playstartrekonline.com/en/news/article/11559123

Talk came to a shield offline build for a supporting role.

I suggested the Tachyon Net Drones console and later i found Cutting Tractor beam console.
Has anyone else tried to make a shield offline build before for PVE and perhaps some minor PVP?

Suggestions?
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

Shield offline build would be like a drain build. theoretical but very costly and problematic to implement. there are a lot of shield steal traits and powers, though. I wouldn't want to try it solo pve though. maybe on a carrier

Might as well close the topic since there is not a soul who can find it after it has been moved to this deserted area of the forum.

The fact that one needs a workaround to even see it is self evident that the setup of this section needs a major change.

A subforum, hidden in a subforum with several dozen announcement which causes any new topics to almost disappear from the onset.

Don't get me wrong, i get why ship builds etc have their own section but with the myriad of subforums and sticky announcements and any topic moved here is instantly killed off.

Just close the shipyard etc and keep it as reference while discussing topics such as this in the general discussions.

I confess I don't like to sign into the forums very often anymore due to how dumb the auto-logout system is, but the Shipyard is one of the forums I like to browse the most here. Moving onto the actual topic..

Unfortunately, the most effective disable/shield offline builds are ones that rely on consoles and gimmicky interactions. Sadly, a full Drain build just doesn't pay off considering the substantial requirements to make them. I still own and maintain a full drain build on one of my characters, despite its underwhelming performance, so I am speaking from experience on this one.

Specifically, the tools you use depend on the setup you're going for. The best general-purpose disabler console is Opening Salvo from the C-Store Titan Science Destroyer. The Console can be used on any ship and defaults to the disable spam. This is particularly effective against bosses, but can hit multiple targets in a forward cone for AoE duty. I highly recommend running Aux2Damp to avoid getting interrupted so you can enjoy the full number of salvos the console fires off. I believe there was another console released sometime this year that can inflict disables that might be on par with this, but it's escaping me at the moment.

Another particularly effective combo is to pair the lockbox trait Carrier Wave Hacking with Rapid-Emitting Armaments from the Legenday D'deridex for torpedo bomber setups.

Honorable mention goes to the Voth Carrier Synergies trait from the Voth Rampart. This trait effectively turns each of your fighter craft into a mobile Tyken's Rift via Aceton Mode and they CAN completely disable entire groups of enemies in high enough numbers.

It may be worth going for a ControlX maximizing build to extend disable durations, but I confess I haven't gotten around to experimenting with that approach yet.

Opening Salvo is one of those console i overlook. Will give it a whirl.

A mine layer perhaps. The first part of the build I used to run is

Concentrated Tachyon Mine Launcher levelled up, Concentrated Tachyon Mine Launcher levelless, then fill the rest with Tetryon Mine Launchers. Trait Reverberatoin all the mine hit stacks all over the place and disable shields offline.

Both combined is a massive amount of shield offline and shield drain and still a decent amount of damage output.

Tachyon Mines. Pretty old item from the lobi store.
Is it worth the investment, even if one is fully committed to drain builds?

Always got the impression that mines like the Trico were a much more efficient "Shields be gone" option.

I'll bite. Im on mobile though so I may switch...

Let me ask this, can you elaborate on shield offline build? Because all the drain talk and consoles and stuff are way overthought.

Best in thread rec for shield offlines was already posted by someone. 'One Big Happy Fleet' - starship trait.

Tier 1 trait for pvp 1v1s with any spike dps build. Decent for the prolonged combat effect, but there are other better traits IMO. Works with anything that hits hard really... PVE, assume prolonged combat, so mid grade.

But realest question, what else besides the offline? Torps? Epg? Beams? CSD? FAW? BO? CF3? My personal favorite and lowest effort entry for shields offline, the dual heavy cannon, lol. Like seriously, a few decent traits and some other choice tuning and you will rip shields off of about anything in about 1 volley on any difficulty with dhcs...

So just to summarize the main point, the first step in your journey to achieving this build is figure out what to do once those shields are down.

Or just simply to answer your question, yes, there are a multitude of options for making shields either go away, or not matter

I also only responded because you thought you were banished to the netherworld.
