Digitizer Plasma beams bugged for Trakia System patrol

I already submitted a ticket on this last night, I have a Romulan build with a Digitizer plasma beam array because I like the way it removes things from the universe with the whoop-whoop sound effect instead of creating explosions and core breaches. I did the Trakia system patrol with it several times and the patrol would not spawn the next group of enemies after I digitized the first two Hirogen ships out of existence.
I stuck a more standard plasma beam on it in place of the Digitizer beam on a theory and it turned out to be correct, the ships underwent the traditional explosion animation and warp core breach, and the next group of Hirogen spawned without a hitch and I was able to complete the patrol. This was a few minutes ago, I submitted the ticket on this last night before bed time.
Somehow, the patrol doesn't recognize Digitized ships as being actually destroyed and will not advance the scenario unless the Hirogens are destroyed with conventional weapons.

The Counter shows that I have killed only 1 out of the two "first ships", IE it doesn't register the destruction of the second, and therefore doesn't spawn subsequent attackers.
This has happen 3 out of 3 attempts,
