so, I beamed aboard k7 today to hit up the tailor to swap my toons and boffs all to the 2399 uniform, and immediately noticed the map was stuttering, choppy almost, badly.
now, anyone who goes to k7 knows its a ghost town, so, only one instance.
figured, lets try my ship's bridge..which is an on demand generated instance map.
same problem.
went back to the space map...smooth as silk.
then I went into the azure nebula rescue TFO, which is usually not quite smooth.
it too is smooth as silk.
so I did the usual troubleshooting, including rebooting my computer, force verifying the files etc, then reran the above maps.
same results.
is it me..or are the ground maps..having issues?
I got a recording via my iphone of this even.

Thanks! Yep! that fixes it for the most part turning off Cinematic Focus, but bits and pieces of the map still go dark as you're flying through it because there's an issue with Shadows and they seem to sort of mess up Lighting 2.0 and Dynamic Lighting too which is why areas of a map then go dark. I've also found if you turn it down to Medium or Low shadows the textures correct themselves as you're going through the map, but at High shadows it doesn't correct itself.
It happens even less if you turn shadows off but it just looks flat without any shadows, and at Low the shadow lines are more harsh so if you want the shadows indeed keep it at Medium. It's been an issue they haven't fixed for a while but it's just getting worse where it's doing it at almost every part of the map especially at Risa but all other maps too. Anyone who says it's our computers though noop... it didn't always do this so it's STOs issue.
Edit: Sometimes it still won't correct itself on medium graphics and with ambient occlusion turned off, because of the problems with shadows, but soon as i switch it to low then back up to medium it corrects, but obviously i'd have to keep doing this every time it gets stuck.
Also the day cycle in risa is now stuck on the point just before it goes to sun down, no sun there at all and hasn't been for 2 days now and it's one of the reasons people go there for the beautiful sun so more and more graphical issues showing up, they've really gotta fix this problem.
