I wasnt playing the game at all when the first two events of the campaign were going on. Ive currently got 200 event progress points, from the current event. Is it possible for me to complete the full campaign with just the three remaining events?
Yes, but you'll have to make sure you complete it every day the events are available, and you could also buyout the event to give extra progress. This is best to do on day one for max bouns progress.
"You don't want to patrol!? You don't want to escort!? You don't want to defend the Federation's Starbases!? Then why are you flying my Starships!? If you were a Klingon you'd be killed on the spot, but lucky for you.....you WERE in Starfleet. Let's see how New Zealand Penal Colony suits you." Adm A. Necheyev.
You will only be able to do this if you use the 20 hour timer, not just daily.
Playing each event once over 21 days --- 3 events x 21 days x 50 point each = 3,150 points earned. Add the 200 points you already have, that's a total of 3,350. Leaving you 150 points short for the total of 3,500 points needed to earn the yearly campaign.
But add in an extra day to each event using the 20 hour timer, and you will just make it.

Or buy out one of the remaining events and still do it daily for extra progress, right?

Yeah, that'd be the safest way as gaining the four hours every day isn't always easy when the timer completes in the middle of the night or when you're out for some reason.
You'll get a lump sum of campaign event progress for however many days you buy out and then another 50 for each bonus day you complete after finishing the individual event. So gives you more flexibility for missing the odd day here and there if real life gets in the way. Not to mention a nice chunk of bonus dilithium for each bonus day.

If @amayakitsune decides to do this, it might be better to do it for the next event not this one -- since they already have days completed they will not get the full 700 points from buying out on day 1.
Con: it costs a little more. Pro: 14 days instead of 10-11. 3500 - 3150 = 350 points / 7 days needed, but if you only get 10 days then you need to be very careful and not miss more than 3 days over the 3 events. Being able to miss 7 days is more breathing room in case of the unexpected.

Yes Im going to buy out one of the next two events, just to be safe. Paying $30 for either two tier 6 ships or a promo ship isnt a bad deal, even if its not technically free.
Anyone have any suggestions of promoships? I was thinking Excelsior II or the Keldon (which Ive always wanted).

Yes, buying out an event on day one will gain you the most. Offering the maximum campaign progress from the buyout and using the rest of the 21-day run for more progress. The nice side effect being reaching the higher echelons of bonus dilithium too. Possibly around 30,000+ daily in the last couple of days, if you can work the 4-hour thing to your advantage each day, for gaining a few extra runs.
I gather the Excelsior has a fun console although I don't have it, or the Keldon.
Having been watching a few videos about the new advanced consoles, particularly the engineering ones, I've been considering the D7 Miracle Worker Flight Deck Carrier for some carrier pet goodness. With a good console and great trait to boot. I've been sat on a promo ship choice pack for a long while now. Might be time to finally use it. https://stowiki.net/wiki/D7_Miracle_Worker_Flight_Deck_Carrier
For the Campaign Event prize, I go for the 1,500 Lobi though, for the excellent console/weapon sets in there that can't be found anywhere else.

I recently got the Excelsior II and it's a very fun ship. I think the Inquiry or the Terran Lexington beats it out ship for ship, but yes, the console is very fun.I haven't tried out the trait yet but on paper it looks pretty good. I'm slotting the console on my Inquiry when I'm done flying the Excelsior II for a while.
Don't let them promote you. Don't let them transfer you. Don't let them do anything that takes you off the bridge of that ship, because while you're there... you can make a difference.

Yea Im mainly interested in the Excelsior II's trait and maybe its console. I already have a Lexington and the Intel Sovereign, both of which seem the same or better on a ship level.
The Keldon just has the benefit of being a ship I always wanted since the Galor came out.
