Newest episode of Picard is out and we finally get the see the enterprise F in all it's glory. Just gotta say well done to the sto team for it's design, it looks gorgeous to the rest of the fleet in the episode. At least until [REDACTED] occures, and then it getss overshadowed by something that will bring a tear to your eyes.

It's not the Cryptic team that is responsible for the design. A long time ago there was a design a ship contest and this one person created the Odyssey design and Cryptic decided the winner of the contest and added it into the game.
(It's one thing i still hold against them today because the event was North America only. I'm never gonna forgive them for it either.)
Anyway. thank the original designer of the ship, the plaudits should be going to Adam Ihle for his work.
T6 Miranda Hero Ship FTW. Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.
I know it was designed for the competition of designing the next enterprise, and yes credit where it is due, the winner of that made a gorgeous ship. Cryptic made it into what we see now and it wouldn't have event been considered a thing to CBS/Paramount without them though.
Still remember the mission on utopia planetia where we test fly the ship, fun times. Can we have that back please...

Adam Ihle did indeed do/come up with the concept they used for the Enterprise-F, but Cryptic did A LOT of iteration to get to the final design that appears in game - and even Adam felt they changed the Saucer as from the concept sketch he submitted as his was a more classic 'round' Saucer, and not a 24th century 'Spoon' type Saucer that the Cryptic 1701-F ended up with. A later released Cryptic galaxy Class variant had a Saucer that more closely matched Adam Ihle's submitted concept sketch - but that was not used for the version of the 1701-F shown in the PICARD S3 Trailers, or finally and fully in Episode 9.
Formerly known as Armsman from June 2008 to June 20, 2012

As it appeared onscreen it showed that the Odyssey class looks way better from above than it does from below, and because when you're flying it you're looking at it from above you're only seeing the good side most of the time
