Inquisitor using an old & replaced costume

Arcane Flame@arcaneflamepony
Ever since the Ascension Update the Inquisitor is using an old random costume I made for a joke that doesn't match my main character in cutscenes, when AI controlled (Blue Shift), and in some dialogue windows. I have tried overwriting/replacing the old costume in the tailor and have deleted locally saved versions of that costume in my C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Star Trek Online\Star Trek Online\Live\screenshots directory but it keeps showing up. It was alt costume in one of my latter slots (not the first or fleet slots) so I have no clue why it latched onto it except that it might have been the last costume I created.

This is a really interesting bug. I too have a character who comes up on the character select screen with an ancient uniform I no longer use. I noticed in some of the cutscenes for the recent episode, my captain appears in that old uniform as well. I know it is not on my end, because I am not even using the same computer I made that uniform on, and if hasn’t been saved in any of my character uniform slots for years.

I remember another thread about someone with a similar issue. They had a Romulan captain who was white when he first made him, but later made him black. Despite deleting all the old uniform files from his end the white version of his captain still came up on the load screen.

I wonder, have you seen the “joke” costume show up on your load screen as well? It seems there must be some costume save file on the server end that is being accessed, even if it is no longer available for your character, but it is very mysterious.

That costume has not shown up on my load screen.

Now, I remember this coming up quite some time ago and a solution was found but I cannot recall exactly what it was.
It might be worth trying to put your main outfit into 'Slot 1' for the costumes and perhaps even give it the same name as your old outfit had, if you can remember it.

I’m case someone finds this thread again. I found someone who could explain where these hidden costumes come from. If you use the Boff commissioning interface to change your Captain’s costume while in space, it creates a hidden costume save slot that is only accessible from the tailor interface while in space. Updating that outfit will not change the display issue where the wrong outfit is selected but it will at least allow you to update that costume.
