Swarmer Matrix is broken and the new HYDRA console has all the same bugs (30% bonus not working)

The Swarmer Matrix console has been broken for years and it looks like the HYDRA console is a copy and past off the Swarmer Matrix meaning the HYDRA console is broken with all the same bugs. The main area that is not working is the 30% to turn rate, Flight Speed and Damage to pets and targetable torpedoes. I am sitting 9.5km away shooting the stationary targets I.K.S in the Doomsday mission using a stopwatch and I see zero difference to flight speeds or damage to pets and torpedoes. No idea how to test turn rate but I expect that is not working either. More info at

I am finding it very hard to show that the flight speed, turn rate or damage is working for pets or torpedoes. Its also not clear if Swarmer Matrix and HYDRA are meant to stack. So far I have seen no evidence they are working standalone or together. It is only the 30% to turn rate, Flight Speed and Damage areas that are not working. The rest of the consoles are ok.

Can confirm, tested and it's not doing anything. Reported the Swarmer Matrix a while ago, was told on this forum it was "accepted" as a bug. Looks like they didn't fix it and then copy/pasted it onto a new console. How can you copy/paste a broken mechanic onto a new console and sell it as something new without even testing it once to see if it works?

Targetable torpedoes would be much more fun to use if they weren't so slow. I'd say fixing these consoles would benefit Cryptic in the end and don't see why they get ignored and sold as a passive console mechanic on a 13th anniversary ship with zero testing to see if their advertised mechanic even works.

I also reported this in a 10 Forward stream, was told to report it as a bug...... I already did that, that's why I'm asking on the 10 Forward stream..... SMH

Here is a video https://ufile.io/mfzjz08u from SMFScar which shows the bug. Only the first torpedo fired is getting a speed boost. All other torpedoes are taking the full 12seconds as though no consoles are fitted, there is no benefit from either console. I believe Plasma torpedoes are not even getting the first torpedo with the speed boost. I used a Rom Hyper Plasma and did not see any speed boost even on the first shot.

With today's update, for me the Swarmer Matrix appears to grant the speed boost to all of my Romulan Hyper-Plasma Torpedoes.

    Thank you for the fix.

Looks like HYDRA + Swarmer has been fixed for Torp Flight speed and they stack. Tested Rom Hyper, Tricos and Heavy Digiti. Also stack with the flight speed trait. This opens up some fun new builds. Thanks for fixing.

It's not always working, I can only reliably get Tricobalt/Digitizer to benefit from the speed buff. Other destructible/HY destructible get no buff. What's weird is that sometimes it appears "some" of the others not getting the buff occasionally do, except for Temporal Disruption Device, it never seems to. Rapid Emitting Armaments and the Texas console are acting the same, usually no buff, but sometimes they appear to speed up, only against moving targets.

Some of my observations may be incorrect, except for shooting at the stationary targets, those were timed. Observed speed changes in battle against moving targets could be nothing but my point of view making them look to be faster.

Looks like some progress was made but overall it's still bugged for most destructible torpedoes.

It was only my point of view making it look like some of the other torps were speeding up, destructible torps are in fact not affected by Swarmer/Hydra console speed boost, only Tricobalt/Digitizer are getting a speed boost. Timed on Infected Space Normal TFO.

Romulan 2pc "engine/shield" is boosting speed of Romulan Hyper Plasma but only under High Yield, no affect on normally fired ones. Plasmatic Biomatter lobi torp and Digitizer are plasma torps, they are not getting a speed boost from the Romulan 2pc space set "engine/shield" under High Yield. Timed on ISN TFO. Those are the only plasma torps I've tested so far.

Some partial fixes to torps overall, but only very few. Making progress at least, no doubt this destructible torp speed boost is a difficult bug to nail down.

If you have time can you test in the Doomsday TFO. Destroy the first 2 NPC's then you have 4 stationary targets. I am trying to rule out if the problem might be map related as I am hearing of multiple problems in ISA/ISE that I am not seeing in solo Doomsday. I am going to retest Hyper Plasma this weekend in case I made a mistake.

You all are not crazy there is a bug with the speed boosts on the consoles, reman 2pc, only affecting certain torps. It is a known issue once again and in the system to be investigated.

Thank you for the update, we appreciate the work put in place for fixing Flight Speed. I am enjoying the fix on the torps which are working.

Thanks, because I was seeing it again where destructible torps were going slow then all of a sudden they speed up. But for some reason when I test on ISN or Doomsday at longer ranges they don't get the boost, except the Tricobalt/Digitizer. Also, at random, a destructible torp will fire, then sit in front of my ship for about half a second to a second, then start moving again, this has been going on for a long time.

That's something I noticed. More now then before the patch. The torps launch then sort of pause for half a second before flying. I assumed it was a graphically lag that did not impact the game but that's just a feeling not something I tested with combat logs.

This is the new "Gump's Box of Chocolates" buff that makes destructible torps highly unpredictable and harder to target!

jk - as I put in earlier post, I also appreciate the dev effort to fix bugs like these.
