I and a few friends have been having issues with Beam Overload misfiring, AKA the skill is activated but the entire process is skipped and only normal beams fire (according to damage numbers).
Thats sadly not helpful for the devs. I would recommend also adding the further information. It will help them narrow down what is happening.
"What type of weapon" eg. Is is single beams or dual. Also, what type of weapon. It is normal phasers, antiproton etc. Or one of the special types. For example like the Pulse phasers or a special type of antiproton (I forget the special types atm for that weapon damage type).
"What Map does the bug occur on" Is it all maps? Or do you notice it only seems to occur on certain. For example ISA (Infected space advance), the patrols or does it occur randomly regardless.
Adding this additional information will allow them to zero in on exactly what is happening.
This still happens and it is 3 years later. I think it has to do with superweapon ingenuity and the 5 second cool down. I think the timing is too narrow, probably would have been solved by making the cool down 4 seconds. I don't bother with ships now days unless they are Intel and I can use Surgical Strikes as a substitute and avoid the frustration. If I have a hankering for BO and other ships, I just use two BO III W/O superweapon ingenuity or 1 BO with photonic officer W/O the superweapon ingenuity... I would rather deal with a 5 second gap rather than missing a whole cycle they can't seem to figure out. It's ridiculous really...
