Would it really be the worst thing imaginable to have brought everything from the zen market in STO?
Unless this is the most terrifying reality we can imagine why not flood the dilithium exchange backwards artificially (Til the backlog eats it) i mean zen is not a physical product and everyone trying to buy zen with dil already has most of what they want AND are doing the dil to zen because they cannot (for whatever reason) buy zen in the first place.
Is this going to upset the balance of how many shirts/ships your average player has? Problem still remains until you get a better solution or have to repeat the process eitherway the exchange is no longer deadlocked and the ones actually playing the game get what they need.
You mean completely kill a revenue stream!? This is a GOD awful idea, because if Cryptic bail out the Dil-Ex once, then folk will demand they do it again and again! It's a completely insane and bonkers idea. The ONLY solutions are to scrap Dil altogether so folk are force to buy Zen for goods, which no-one will go for, or to wait till Cryptic have come up with a sustainable solution. These things do not happen over-night, and as they've already pointed out, repeatedly, it is going to take time.
"You don't want to patrol!? You don't want to escort!? You don't want to defend the Federation's Starbases!? Then why are you flying my Starships!? If you were a Klingon you'd be killed on the spot, but lucky for you.....you WERE in Starfleet. Let's see how New Zealand Penal Colony suits you." Adm A. Necheyev.

You're basically advocating for just GIVING Zen away for free. The point of the DL Exchange is that all zen is paid for already. The problem is that all current Dilithium sinks have a finite lifespan, and we've pretty much hit that lifespan, thus the DEMAND for Dilithium has dropped to the point we're at now.
The answer is not to pour Zen into the exchange, as once all that Zen is consumed, people will want more and more and more and the problem will NEVER be solved. The answer is to make Dilithium desirable. To increase Dilithium demand in a way that players will accept and not riot. This is Supply and Demand, pure and simple. Slapping a "Stimulus" to get it moving faster won't solve the CORE PROBLEM.
I can't take it anymore! Could everyone just chill out for two seconds before something CRAZY happens again?!

This makes no sense for a business. Zen pays the salaries, keeps the servers running, pays the license fees to CBS, pays the console fees to Microsoft, Sony. Giving away zen for free means no money to Cryptic for all of that.
If you work, do you work for free? If yes, change jobs now.
