Not having much luck with the new carrier pets. The damage was so low I gave up trying to destroy the target NPC cruiser and warped out. Plus the healing was so low it was not worth while at all.
Background. This is on a full carrier pet build with all pet buffs. Normally I get around 250k to 300k pet DPS. With the Support Runabout I am getting 12.96k total which is terrible for a buffed-up pet carrier. 12.96k DPS output is unusable. Furthermore, the healing they put out was so low as to also be unusable. I also spent resources upgrading them to Elite Support Runabouts which only seemed to make them worse.
Character: Pottsey@Pottsey
Last map you were in: Stranded in Space but happens on all maps. (Elite Difficulty)
Map you were going to: NA: engaged first 2 NPC cruisers only
What the issue is:
Issue 1: Went into combat and even with all pet buffs, all pet consoles, all pet traits, the Support Runabouts pets damage output was too low to be useable. Couldn't destroy the two basic NPC's at the start of Stranded in Space. In a reasonable timeframe. Gave up and warped out.
Issue 2: upgrading to pets to Elite didn't improve the pets. A lot of resource spent only for them to be worse if anything.
issue 3: Independent Wingmate is not buffering the pets. I am seeing zero damage increase and no Buff icon on the pets.
What steps you already tried when attempting to resolve your issue: Tried upgrading pet to Elite which only lowered effectiveness. Asked other players who have the same problem.
issue 4:
2nd Screenshot is of the new Valkyrie pets which do average damage output which is rather disappointing but useable. The problem is I upgraded them to Elite only to see the damage output drop. While not as bad as Support Runabouts the Valkyrie are rather average and could do with a small buff to make them decent.
Comments
And once again the problem seems to be worse with elite versions of these pets, since they might be moving around faster and gets out of front facing position more often.
But dunno why hangar pets with the 360 degrees beam weapons(Support Runabouts) aren't doing more, since they can always shoot no matter which way they face.
Then again, their torpedos aren't 360 degrees.
