On another note, in case you use the forums through arcgames.com or playstartrekonline (basically any site with overlay) you have trackers and third-party cookies of half a dozen sites as well. Non of those is essential for the forum to work, as you can use it fine and tracker-free via forum.arcgames.com url (which however requires you to block the redirect java script for the overlay).

As far as I understand, this is a legal requirement (depending on where you are browsing from) to notify the user of cookie use, so they wouldn't have a choice.

The point is that for some users the site shows the cookie disclaimer every single time upon visit and doesn't, in fact, save cookies and logins for some reason.

The only time I get the cookie notification is when I come here and find I'm not logged in. Once logged back in the notification disappears.
Yeah, that basically sum's it up for me too. As I am always logged in, I have yet to see any cookie announcement, even though I know most sites uses cookies as a standard rule, as is the announcement of it (which IS law btw). Oh and @corinthalas, did you know the site uses cookies? Well, it does, so now you know lol...
Peace...

For me... its once a day since I do fully shut down my computer. But I'm usually logged in for a while.
Wait, what? That is different then what I experience @rattler2. I too shut down my PC every night before I head off to bed, but when I come back here the next day, I am still logged in and so don't see any cookies. So why would you be still getting them while I am not? Do you actively log off on this website, is that why (because that would be one reason of course). Just asking because I seem to be having a different experience than you. I wonder if it has something to do with the site's options, hmmm...
Peace...

I too use that site address @davefenestrator, as well as chrome too. Weird, I guess that just makes me special is all... or maybe just "special", if you know what I mean lol...
Same here. Stock Google Chrome (no extensions) on Windows 10. It remembers the cookies for my login but not the cookie for the cookie notification.
Stock Firefox, Adblock, Win 10. Although I do have a custome Tails Firefox banner thing on my browser window, mostly because I like Miles "Tails" Prower, but that's cosmetic only. Firefox lets you customize that way.

I found the Cookie notice constantly requiring my notice quite annoying until I noticed a way to avoid seeing the notice and to stay logged in.
Here's what I did in Chromium - there will likely be slight differences for other browsers:
Opened up my browser Settings;
Click "Privacy and Security";
Click "Cookies and other site data";
Scroll down to "Sites that can always use cookies";
Click the "Add" button;
Put "playstartrekonline.com" into the field and clicked the box to allow third-party cookies;
(It didn't work for me without allowing third-party cookies )
Click the final "Add" button to add the site to my short list of allowed sites;
Finally, going back to the site, I saw all the usual notices and had to log in, but I've rarely seen them since.
Optionally, repeat the above procedure for "arcgames.com".
I'm slightly annoyed that I had to allow third-party cookies to make it work, but I believe the problem is that "playstartrekonline.com" interfaces with "arcgames.com", which counts as a third party in this case. There may be others, but it was a trade-off for a less annoying browsing experience.
Not sure whats going on here, i originally made that post that sits before rattlers last comment a while back on july 26th.
Have not signed in for the last couple of days, and just noticed that the post was duplicated twice more today without my logging in or interaction.. @rattler2 any reason this may have occurred ??? as it certainly was not my doing..
@timelords1701 Sorry, I was clearing out the forum spam queue. 🤷♀️ Doing so ends up posting comments that were marked as spam by the system.

On a more serious note... yea it is a bit annoying. Something must have changed recently.

Maybe they could add some sort of notification? Preferably one that's a black rectangular shape, with a white 'accept'-button on it.
