Well the console part is the anniversary start, which will be introducing new assets into the game.
Not to mention on all platforms the server hamster has been performing like an asthmatic ant with heavy shopping (an internet will be rewarded for getting the reference). So that warrants a couple of extra hours.
Launcher said to check the forums, but there is not one word as to what the extended maintenance tonight is about. Still two days until patch.
They patch on Thursdays and, occasionally, Tuesdays. It is nothing out of the ordinary.
"You don't want to patrol!? You don't want to escort!? You don't want to defend the Federation's Starbases!? Then why are you flying my Starships!? If you were a Klingon you'd be killed on the spot, but lucky for you.....you WERE in Starfleet. Let's see how New Zealand Penal Colony suits you." Adm A. Necheyev.
I'm on Xbox it's 3/15/ 2022 @ 2:09 pm EST it keeps telling me " The server is unavailable at this time ". Does anyone know where I can find out what the Xbox server status is?
The only thing I get when I search for server status with todays date is patch notes..
I think today they're also changing various 'splash' pages and doing infrastructure changes related to the fact they're now owned by Gearbox and are no longer a PWE/PWI game studio (IE - The sale officially 'went through').

That's good news about the Gearbox deal going through..
Hopefully some changes will happen now and things will actually work for a change no more bugs that never get fixed and some customer support that actually gets back to you without just closing your tickets without a response or an attitude like your tickets are an inconvenience to them.
They have the worst customer support I've ever had to deal with. Gearbox on the other hand is one of the better companies for customer support I've dealt with in the past with Borderlands.

Last I saw (on FB), they ran into unexpected issues with the console patch and were debating whether to keep things off until they fixed it, or roll back to the last patch so console players can at least play.

Let me try this again.....
Thanks. Jonsills for the info, It's greatly appreciated..
Hopefully they figure something out soon so we can get back to Treking..
If you're looking for updates on the console, Ambassadorkael is giving updates in a thread in the " Galactic News Network [Console]" it's titled "Crashing issue on console, game is still locked"
He has been giving updates there..
Hope that helps anyone looking for information..

Can't they just use the replicators?
Replicated space hamsters never come out quite right. They end up either miniature or giant, not both.

Star Trek Online will have extended maintenance on all platforms tomorrow, 3/15, at 5am PT. Estimated downtime is 4.5 hours for Console and 5.5 hours for PC. You can find the Console patch notes below, there are no patch notes for PC:

At worst it'll be same old, same old. Hopefully though that means some new staff.

They are always working very hard to feed them, when they get off the treadmill.
