I'm sure many STO players have problems seeing some colors. I don't, but my brother (who plays STO) does. I was wondering if the Devs could put the rarity name (common, uncommon, etc) underneath or next to the names of Bridge and Duty Officers, or set it so if you put your cursor on their name it would show the rarity name. I'm sure people who have trouble telling some colors apart would appreciate it.

Learn something new everyday. I've been playing the game for years and never noticed that. Thank you.

For duty officers, I believe it is already visible by a number of diagonal stripes in one corner of their icon.
EDIT: yes, I checked. Lower left corner. Green officers will have one stripe, blue have two, and purple have three.
For bridge officers, the color/rarity are actually almost meaningless; what really matters is their specific traits (the same trait will always have the same effect regardless of the officer's color/rarity)... the color/rarity is actually a reflection of the total quality of their traits, as follows:
Very rare / purple : 2 superior and 2 normal traits
Rare / blue : 1 superior and 3 normal traits (or sometimes 2 normal and 1 basic)
Uncommon / green : no superior traits, 3 normal, 1 basic
Common / white : no superior, 2 normal, 2 basic
Thanks! I'd recently learned about the Bridge Officer color/rarity and what matters is their specific traits, but I never noticed how the Duty Officers have the diagonal stripes in one corner of their icon. When you are able to get Duty Officers I think (not 100% sure) there is a brief tutorial on them. If they don't explain what the diagonal stripes are, it would be nice if they did. Thanks again for the information.

The same is true for Admiralty Cards. They use the same visual "rank" system as DOffs. UR has 4 and Gold just has a box rather than stripes.
