Transwarp mystery

I always get 30 second trans-warp, and a 1 min cool-down. It doesn't matter if i have a warp-engine that should take half off the cool down, or should give me a longer trans-warp, or i slot the trans-warp computer console, or put a cool-down in my trans-warp cool-down reduction of my options, or all of them together.. No matter what i do, its always 30 seconds trans-warp and 1 minute cool-down. I have noticed that for second it goes to 30 secs, but switches to 1 min right away. I also noticed that it makes a difference what ship you use. Should it do that ?...

I did notice that the faster turn rate DOES work.

On 1 character i got 2 min Transwarp, 15 secs cooldown, but when i changed ship, it was back to 1 min cooldown and 30 secs transwarp.

I am really confused here. Anyone have any idea why or how this happens ?... I suspect this to be a bug, but i have no idea why or how.

I think you are simply confusing "Transwarp" with "Quantum Slipstream".
Transwarp is the games instant travel system. But I think you talk about Quantum Slipstream here...
So abilitys and eqipment that are reducing Transwarp will NOT reduce your Quantum Slipstream cooldown.
Transwarp cooldown is 15 minutes. It can be reduced to about 2 Minutes. (Purple Astrometrics Doff, universal console "Transwarp Computer", Gamma Reputation Warpcore, "Well Traveled" trait)
You can reduce the Quantum Slipstream cooldown by using a Miracle Worker straship. Those have QS duration of 90 Sec. and a cooldown of 30 Sec.
To learn more about Quantum Slipstream speeds and cooldowns, I'll link you an wiki article, that should answer all of your questions:

Thanks for all the advice and suggestions. You're right, i seem to get them confused. Can anyone explain me the difference ?...

But the fact, and thus my problem, stands.

FYI: I am flying the Fleet Battle-cruiser T6-X. When needed i use the Universal trans-warp computer, it has a 50% cool-down reduction on all trans-warp abilities. I have used the Obelisk subspace rift warp core, which should give me a slipstream drive recharges 100% faster, 100% slipstream turn-rate, and 20% slipstream speed. I am now using the Miycilial harmonic matter-antimatter warp-core from the discovery legends rep. It should give me 20% slipstream speed, 100% slipstream turn-rate, 50% cool-down reduction on trans-warp, and slipstream drive recharges 100% faster.

Once i got 2 min slipstream duration, and 15 seconds recharge with the very same equipment ?.. be it on another ship, which sadly, i cant remember which, i have a lot of ships.

If a ship alone, can influence Slipstream that much, I think this is an error, Slipstream should be slipstream, no matter what ship you use. (ofcource minor differences can occur, and/or influenced by the gear you use.) Having said that, I realize i know very little about the inner workings of this game, even if i have played it for 2 years. So i take your advice and remarks very seriously, because i want to learn.

What would you advice i do, knowing i really love this ship, and would like to keep using it... Just except what it is ?... that would really rub me the wrong way.

Support said that there could be something wrong with my slipstream, and suggested i post it on this forum, suggesting that lots of players know a hell of a lot more then i do about the game. which is absolutely correct.

Transwarp is an instantaneous travel to another sector or mission location.
It has a default recharge of 15 minutes.

Quantum Slipstream Drive is what makes your ship go really, really fast in Sector Space.
The duration and cooldown of QSD is very dependent on what ship you use.
    • Most ships have a regular QSD which has a 30 second duration and 2 minute recharge.
    • Some ships, such as the Odyssey and Bortas'qu variants, have an Advanced QSD with 1 minute duration and 2 minute recharge.
    • A full-blown Miracle Worker ship has a Cyclical QSD which has a 90 second duration with a 2 minute recharge but the recharge starts when the CQSD begins rather than ends.
This means that after the 90second duration expires, there's 30 seconds recharge left.
If the CQSD is ended early, say after just 18 seconds, there's 102 seconds recharge left.
    • (Other QSD's exist - please refer to the link above.)

Anything - consoles, traits, impulse engines, warp cores - which reduces cooldown is actually speeding up recharge speed.
"100% cooldown reduction" is often seen on tooltips, but this doesn't reduce the cooldown to 0secs, it actually doubles the recharge speed which effectively halves the time.
So, "100% slipstream cooldown reduction" on a regular QSD reduces the 2 minute cooldown to 1 minute.
A further "100% slipstream cooldown reduction" on a regular QSD reduces the now 1 minute cooldown to 30 seconds.

Reductions such as 50%, 20%, etc. have much more complicated Mathematics behind them and I'm not entirely confident on explaining them via a text box.
Perhaps someone else would like to take on that challenge...?

its crystal clear to me now, thank you guys.

I was always wondering why there are no console's or engines which lengthen the duration of slipstream. Everything always goes one way, in effect, shortening the time.

This is a really complicated game. Just the other day i wondered why my damage meter suddenly went from 113 to 125, without me doing anything at all.. no changes made to the configuration, or all that i have slotted. To me, this is another mystery. I guess you can still call me a NooB in such matters. 2 years or not.

Thanks to everyone that has responded, it made everything clear. I might be a bit late responding, but i was suspecting the forum to send me a message if anyone reacted.. It didn't. So sorry about that.

    RelicDude.
