Hi. I'm hoping someone can help me with this. I'm stuck on the Mine Enemy mission where I scan the Romulan mine and find two pressure plates. I click the Rally icon on the boff profile or press hotkey Y and the white Rally arrow appears. However when I left click to set the Rally nothing happens. I really don't know what's going on or what I'm doing wrong.

Here's a video of the problem.

Any help you can provide would be logical. \\//_

Thank you.

I don't click on random videos from new posters, but did you try setting the arrow in different locations like an open area on the ground to see if you are doing it correctly? The game doesn't let you click spots that it doesn't think the boff can run to.

I haven't set a rally point in a while, but I seem to recall a right click is required not a left click.

I can try and reconfirm but if memory serves left and right clicking doesn't work. I think this map is just broken. I'm getting word from others on Reddit that this bug has been around since launch. Oh well. I figured out how to get around the problem. Have an enginner boff deploy a turret on the pressure plate and I ran over to the other plate. This made the door open up.

If there is such a bug it's not constant -- I just played Mine Enemy a couple of weeks ago with a new science captain and was able to use the rally point with my bridge officer. Regardless, you got past it and can ignore rally points until you get to Deferra.

I've done it on multiple characters without problem so yes it must not be constant. Sorry you had this issue though.

Yes, I'm that Askray@Batbayer in game. Yes, I still play. No, I don't care.

Everyone's favorite bug -- the 'intermittent' one. Makes you want to bite buttonholes out of things.
"Susse-thrai" had been the name bestowed upon her, half in anger, half in affection, by her old crew on Bloodwing; the keen-nosed, cranky, wily old she-beast, never less dangerous than when you thought her defenseless, and always growing new teeth far back in her throat to replace the old ones broken in biting out the last foe's heart.
Romulans: left one homeworld, lost another, third time's the charm?

This problem isn't intermittent for me. It has never worked. I checked a few seconds ago and still cannot place rally points. Six years later, the issue is still an issue. 🙁

how are you setting the RPs then? ive never has issues with RPs...and this isnt to down play the post or the issue, but how are you doing it?

    1. Press Y.
    2. Move RP Icon somewhere close and left mouse click.
    3. Nothing happens. Stuck in RP mode. Have to keep pressing ESC to get out of the mode.

    Repeat 1 and 2. Finally give-up.
also, is this PC, or console?

    Windows

    odd. ive never used "Y"

I've always just clicked the icon above the boffs and used that.

Those don't work either. I'm pretty sure "Y" means "set rally point for all boffs."

Here's a gif recording showing me manually clicking on the RP icon next to the boffs and failing to place the RP.

It has been like this since STO launched. Setting rally points has never worked for me.

I think after 7 years, you should probably have created a new thread to ask about this.

The only time I set a rally point is during that mine investigating mission. Click the button and then on the trigger point to get the boff to stand where needed. Right click the button to remove.

*WHERE* are you clicking when you're trying to set the rally point? If you're clicking near selectable objects, you might be selecting them instead.

Usually, I stand on one pad and send a boff over to the other (via the boff's own rally-point command). The only problem I've ever had was that the boff would either not get onto the pad or overshoot it entirely, forcing me to recall them and try again, because now they're too close to the location, so clicking in the area I want to send them just continually selects that boff.

--addendum-- have you tried an install repair? Because that behavior looks to be unique to you and your system.

The ground, obviously. I'm not going to place the RP on or near objects.

Yes, I verified files and performed an install repair. Neither has resolved the bug. As I've said, this has been present since launch. I suspect the bug was created when I made my character on launch day. The bug still exists and hasn't been "patched."

Here's the most vital clue it's a character bug. I created a KDF character and assigned RPs works without issue.

The devs should fix this. It's been like this for 12 years.

It's a character bug that was happened sometime during launch, either when I created the character or while playing.

Here's a video of me playing my newly created KDF character where I can set rally points without issue.

As I said, this bug has been present for 12 years on my main character and has never been fixed.
