Game Launches, but Characters are Missing

I can log-in and launch the game but end up at the character screen with a clean slate as if it's my first time playing. When I try to back out to the log in screen the game simply crashes. I've had no issues in nearly ten years of playing. This only started happening after the Shadow's Advance Update.

I uninstalled the Steam version and installed the Arc version. That fixed it for me.
