"The Star Trek Online Lifetime Subscription has always been the best way to make one purchase and set up your STO account for life, and now it’s getting even better. Thanks to the hard work of our programmers, we’re updating the subscription so that everyone gets more of every kind of slot when you purchase a lifetime subscription, and even those who aren’t subscribed will see some benefit.
Purchasing a Lifetime Subscription increases the baseline slots of an account or character. This means that a character that starts at level 1 will have more slots if you’ve purchased a Lifetime Subscription.
Here’s how the changes break down – please note that the values below reflect the total number of slots you will have after purchasing a Lifetime Subscription, not the amount of slots that will be added at purchase.
These changes will take affect on PC tomorrow, January 25th, and at a later date on Xbox and Playstation."

I'll just hope that all existing characters will get the slots they missed out on previously.
I had already levelled a few characters when I bought my subscription.
Those toons never got their extra inventory slots because they're only added WHILE levelling a toon, AFTER purchasing the subscription.

A normie goes "Oh, what's this?"
An otaku goes "UwU, what's this?"
A furry goes "OwO, what's this?"
A werewolf goes "Awoo, what's this?"
"It's nothing personal, I just don't feel like I've gotten to know a person until I've sniffed their crotch."
"We said 'no' to Mr. Curiosity. We're not home. Curiosity is not welcome, it is not to be invited in. Curiosity...is bad. It gets you in trouble, it gets you killed, and more importantly...it makes you poor!"
We should see the following increases in our various slots; (assuming we are not already at the Hard Cap in a given slot, I think)
Character Slots +3
Dry Dock Slots +5
Shared Bank +20
Character Inventory +36
Character Bank +72
Boff slots +2 by 65
Active Ship Slots +3 by 65
Costume Slots +2 by 65
Does that look correct? They have me a little confused with the Gold vs LTS?
That's something I'm wondering about too.
During previous giveaways, I couldn't use the extra inventory slots on several of my toons because they were apparently already maxed out...
I just wish I hadn't spent my monthly Zen on more ship slots for one of those toons yesterday...
I had previously been missing one, and it was in fact returned.
"There is also a few benefit's for non Gold Subscribers too.
Ok, but what if I was not a Gold Subscriber?
Your baseline slots will increase by the full amount, as if you had been a Gold Subscriber who purchased Lifetime."
Still this seems like a nice and welcome change, with a little of something for most.
Well I don't think they increased the max limit's per Character for various slots, but any fresh Character's the limits would apply.
"With the first link, the chain is forged. The first speech censured, the first thought forbidden, the first freedom denied, chains us all irrevocably."
But the shared back is not for F2P players, right? only lifers and Golds?
Clearly says they'll increase.
"What if I’ve already purchased more slots than the values above, and my baseline slots are increased by a Lifetime Subscription?
You will retain the purchases you’ve paid for, increasing the overall amount of slots you have."
Yeah, I see it as an increase, rather than just a giveaway.
In terms of the character slots, I think it's similar to when they add a new slot for people whenever they do a new recruitment event. They're simply adding an extra to the max.
That doesn't say that the max amount of slots a player can have will increase. They're saying that if you had purchased, say, 4 times extra slots and you'd get six from the lifetime sub, you'd end up with ten.
This must have changed at some point because all of my current characters were max level before I bought my lifetime sub (also having never done a monthly sub) and they all received their proper slots for everything.
"For Players Who have Not Purchased a Lifetime Subscription
Base Dry Dock Slots will increase to 10
Base Shared Bank slots will increase to 20
This means you will be able to access the Shared Bank without purchasing anything.
For Current and Future Lifetime Subscription Purchasers:
Base Character Slots will increase to 13
Base Dry Dock Slots will increase to 15
Base Shared Bank Slots will increase to 40
Base Inventory Slots will increase to 144
Base Bank Slots will increase to 204
Base Bridge Officer Slots will increase to 12 at level 10, and 16 at level 65.
Base Active Ship Slots will increase to 6 at level 10, and 15 at level 65.
Base Costume Slots will increase to 4 at level 0 and 6 at level 65"
It's pretty easy to see why they did this, though - the rewards from the LTS have fallen in value quite a bit since they were first issued.
* Forum titles have been broken for years and in-game titles and accolades aren't really worth anything.
* They just recently updated some of the uniforms (thanks for giving the vet badge a stealth cleanup!), but most are still below current standards.
* The shuttles and T5 stuff (ships and token) are of very dubious value and the ship skins are showing their age.
So increasing the numbers on the things that still are useful is a good way to make sure people looking at the list of rewards see something that might be worth the money.
Good question! Following.
While I'd love new ships, even just releasing new seating versions of the Destroyers would be a really nice change. Those are ships that are gated behind a significant paywall. Having new versions, with dual-spec seating that reflects their relevant faction, would be a really nice change. I assume re-releasing a T6 with new seating is semi-trivial, but I'll admit, I don't know. (New traits on those ships would be nice, but I suspect simply giving those ships seating, and consoles more in line with a premium ship in 2022 would go a long way towards making them appealing.)
Another thing they could do to sweeten the bundle, (I assume) without spending too much on development, would be to migrate the Android race over so it's playable as a Fed or KDF captain. (Though, it is possible their innate traits would break scripting in places. Especially Reboot. So, this might not be as simple as it initially sounds.)
For sure an increase to the cap on personal inventory if you were already capped. I didn't have a capped personal bank on anyone, so I can't speak to that.
I dug this up from the last news article about a Lifetime Sub sale. I'm not certain how you would find it directly. https://arcgames.com/en/games/star-trek-online/game-pack/detail/2064-star-trek-online%3A-lifetime-subscription
I would wait for a sale. They're usually 50% off when they happen these days, so it's a much better deal. It might not happen for a few months, but there's almost always one in late-June.
