Which pack are you choosing? The elite ship reward that includes all the previous drop box ships? The 2 c-store ship 100% discount coupons, or are you going for the lobi crystals?
I have a Ferengi character that could use the Marauder in the drop box ship list.
I also have romulan and dominion characters that really need romulan and dominion ships too.
I think some of the ships in the lobi store would be REALLY FUN to have but just that, fun. Maybe not so much needed as the first two though.
So...which one makes the most sense? Should I maybe get one ship from the drop box ship list that probably one character will benefit from? And get the c-store ships I want later with easier to acquire coupons or cash?
Or should I get twice as many ships, which I need for my romulan and dominion alts? My only worry with this is that I may never have access to the previous drop box ships again.

Go for the drop box ship you really want. If you don't do it now, you may never again get the chance, and you will always regret it.
I think you may be right. I may indeed choose the best ship from the drop box ships I can, and get the Romulan and Dominion ships I want from the c-store later with cash or coupons.
I've never played the drop box lotto much in the past so I've never had access to these ships and I may never get a choice out of them again.

You have some hope of earning the credits for a lobi ship either by grinding or grinding and a little real world cash. That's a lot harder to do for a promo pack ship. Unless you are OK with spending $200 cash on a ship for one character this really is your one chance at a promo pack ship.
If you do have $200 to spend, consider getting the Legendary Fed Pack next time it's on sale instead of a promo pack Connie. 10 account-wide ships vs. 1 single-character ship. Then pick something else for this event reward.

The only option I flat out didn't consider was the 2 C-Store ships, I have all the C-Store ships I want and those are easily obtained. Lobi can't be obtained any other way but opening boxes and the promo ships can cost hundreds of dollars to try and 'win.'
I actually have a pretty good number of Promo ships already, but I went with the Section 31 Heavy Command ship. I have a character that didn't really have a theme but I had him in the Section 31 Uniform already anyway so I just committed and built that character around that theme. For me, I think it was a great pick, but I can't just recommend that ship to everyone. It certainly wasn't the 'best' ship I could get, but it was one I wanted and honestly, it was probably the only chance I would have to get it since I can't buy ships for EC anymore because I don't use Trade Channels.
If you ask me, the 2 best options are the Promo ship as they are, for most players, 'your only chance,' or the Lobi because you can use it to get gear, consoles, whatever for several alts if you need that stuff. I looked at the Promo list, and made a separate list of the ones I wanted but didn't have. It came down to the Inquiry and the S31 and while the Inquiry is a great ship.. it just doesn't feel 'special.' The S31 ticked all the boxes and was a good pick for me.
What is best for you is entirely up to you, it would be easy if we could just tell you that one option was clearly best.. but we can't. If I didn't have them already, the Discovery Connie/D7 or the Terran Styx probably would have been at the top of my list.
I still haven't decided what to do with the other account's box yet, not because there is nothing interesting to use it on, rather there are too many possibilities so I am letting it sit for a bit.
As everyone else has said, it might be my only chance to get a promo ship, so that was always going to happen.
I chose that specific ship because it's the one ship that's very different to anything else I had in that it's a massive starbasee sized ship with two launch bays.
I wasn't keen on the Constitutions as I don't love the design. The Section 31 Battlecruiser was tempting because it looks nice and has some interesting abilities. The Atlas is interesting, but a bit meh.
Performance wise, I don't think the Universe is that great, but that's not why I chose it - and I don't regret the choice.
So yeah, I guess what I'm saying is that I agree with Seaofsorrows in that the decision is different for everyone.

The event choice box or the "real" promo box?
Are you missing that there is a "23rd century" box that gives the choice of 3 ships including the connie?
I understand your uncertainty, and I don't blame you for asking. God knows they have made it confusing enough.
I am talking about the T6 ship choice box, that I got from opening an Infinity gamble-box, 4-5 months ago. No, I am not missing that the ships in question come from a "Special Requisition Pack - 23rd Century tier 6 ship". It was there a few weeks ago, and now it's gone. The whole list of available options is notably shorter, but there is one new choice at the top of the list; you can now choose the T6 Parliament.
The "Special Requisition Pack - 23rd Century tier 6 ship" is available from the "Premium T6 Starship Choice" box that you can choose from the current "Event Campaign III", but note that it does not give you a choice, and never did. When you open it, you get a ship based upon your faction - Temporal Connie for Feddies, Temporal D7 for KDF, and some silly bird thing for Rommies. So if you go that route, be sure you choose which toon to open it with accordingly.
Unless, of course, they have changed that also. But better safe than sorry.
I used a promo pack reward box about a week ago on xbox on my TOS temporal recruit. It had the 23rd century choice box, and it offered me the Connie + D7 + T'liss. I chose the Connie and am flying it now.
