So, when I try to play the game... I hit the 'Engage" button and go to a black screen. Once it actually popped up CRYPTIC in the middle of the screen the rest of the times it's been pure black. This freezes my computer. Can't do anything but hit ctrl+alt+del and shutdown.
I noticed the last time I tried to log in that as soon as I hit 'Engage' the top bar of the launcher says 'Not Responding' just before the screen go black.
Anyone else?

However it is not clear if this is the black screen bug. Some problems need more than 280 characters to explain.
And coldnapalm is right that the black screen has been an ongoing problem. Some of the people experiencing it have said it seems to be related to running STO through Arc. If you are using Arc—you may want to try logging in directly from the launcher.
Hope you figure it out.
---I take back my kudos 3 days now back to black.
"With the first link, the chain is forged. The first speech censured, the first thought forbidden, the first freedom denied, chains us all irrevocably."

The option for the old Arc client is still available. The link you used most likely goes to the new Arc client. I will provide a different link: https://www.arcgames.com/download With that said will be glad when this black screen issue many players are having bites the dust.
