zen not visible in dilithium exchange

Per GM Chroma, I'm listing this bug.
On the evening of 6-24-21, and the morning of 6-25-21, when I went to the dilithium exchange to purchase some zen, there was no zen showing for sale. That is still true as of the time I'm writing this post.

I submitted a trouble ticket (538187), and was advised by Chroma that it is probably a visual/graphic glitch.

Please look into this issue

Thanks

Not a bug, as mentioned on Twitter, demand far exceeds supply right now so all zen posted for sale gets immediately sold for dil. (Grissom and Clarke, the little ships that broke the Dil/Zen market. :b )

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I would imagine the lack of Zen available is due to the current economy. I mean many people have been out of work since Covid started. Selling Zen takes cash and that is in rare supply for a lot of people right now. Don't you think that's the reason for the shortage?

Realize also if you still list your ZEN for sale at 500:1 (when you see no other offers present - it means the rate is 500:1) it may take a few minutes or hours to sell but it still will sell your DIL you just need to be patient for it to do so.

Hopefully over the coming months we'll see some stuff added to Phoenix once again, along with several other idea's presented by the Community for DIL sinks that will also help stabilize the economy a bit.

Okay here's an idea that I don't think anyone has come up with yet, but converting inventory items into Zen? Like how items can be converted into dil or energy credits?

Like bitcoin? I can trade my junk white shield for .00001 zen. Maybe? But you are right that probably no one else came up with that idea before.🖖

Creating Zen from thin air may be good for players but would not be good for the game itself (selling zen is how Cryptic finances the behind-the-scenes costs of running the game: staff salaries, server costs, etcetera).

What needs to happen is to somehow entice more players to trade zen to get dilithium. Having spoken to several older players, who used to do this and now are not, it's because they have run out of things to use dilithium on... if you think about it, everything in game that you can use dilithium for, at some point is self-limiting.

Fleet upgrades? Eventually your fleet will be maxed out.
Buying gear? Eventually you have all the gear you could possibly need.
Upgrading gear? Eventually every piece of gear you have is maxed out.
Phoenix packs? Eventually you have everything you want.

    Etcetera.

The problem is what if they don't have any?
