No news on this even from a moderator? I checked twitter and nothing. Somebody goes on vacation and nobody takes over their responsibilities? With all the recent problems my bet is that they will be even worse once Risa event starts because knowing this company as I do there is no way they will solve everything anytime soon.

Speaking of...
I wonder when we'll hear something about that event?

First I heard of it. Technically I JUST got on the computer not that long ago. (I'm on Pacific time)
Also Moderator doesn't mean we're in the loop on everything. We're volunteers keeping the peace on the forums, and have the ability to reach out to Kael more directly. Other than that... We're just like you sitting behind the home computer. I try to pass on things like I did with the Voyager card when it was first released, but... I don't have any inside info at this time.
I'd have to guess that, as stated above and is generally the assumed reason, it was server side. Thus nothing to really report other than back end maintenance. No actual changes like a normal patch. If I or darkblade hear anything different, we'll try and pass it along.
I can't take it anymore! Could everyone just chill out for two seconds before something CRAZY happens again?!
The nut who actually ground out many packs. The resident forum voice of reason (I HAZ FORUM REP! YAY!)

Generally speaking, if there's nothing in the Release notes section, assume it was normal weekly server maintenance, for which they never give notes for. This is the way is has always been....but yes, saying to check the forums is misleading, but that's probably because someone other than Kael has made the launcher announcement.
"You don't want to patrol!? You don't want to escort!? You don't want to defend the Federation's Starbases!? Then why are you flying my Starships!? If you were a Klingon you'd be killed on the spot, but lucky for you.....you WERE in Starfleet. Let's see how New Zealand Penal Colony suits you." Adm A. Necheyev.

The announcement on the launcher regarding maintenance Kael is not responsible for. It would be nice to have two different banners though. One where there are patch notes to check the forum, and two another saying no patch notes, would save time. Then again there has been times when the patch notes do get posted late, sometime after maintenance has completed.

Probably a server thing, so nothing of note, but it'd still be nice to hear about it before the ingame announcements 30 mins before shutdown.
Edit to Add:
Yeah, launcher says "Shard Maintenance... Check the Forums..." Yeah, here we are, what are we checking for?
Probably something to do with the constant game crashes on PC that has been happening for the last week or so.

No idea whether that means anything, but I'd think that some files had to have changed and thus downloaded again?
