Quest String: Options

I notice that a lot of the quest string leads you to New Romulus and exploring/establishing whatever. I found it boring, Are there other options to pursue beside going to New Romulus?

    Not really. STO is a linear story with differing starting points. Each mission is basically like an Episode of Star Trek.

    Though you can bypass the New Romulus chain via the mission skip option IIRC.

    Yeah, have my klingon character do the run of the string to lead to new romulus and i am like geesh, give me something different. So i started the house united quest as well as hit fleet jobs, just expected something different
