Does the 100 dollar lifetime sub include the 500 zen a month?

Just saw the add. It doensn't specifically list the 500 zen a month? Is this the cost of the lowered price. Or does it still include it?

You only get the 500 zen stipend monthly on pc. You don't get it on console due to legalities, hence that is why LTS on console is cheaper than pc.

Yea... I kinda wanna say that Console gets a different perk than PC, but don't quote me on that. I'm a PC player.

I'm a pc player also. They just advertised a sale for lifetime passes.

    https://www.arcgames.com/en/games/star-trek-online/news/detail/11485063

    Is this not for pc?

NVM, I thought it was for 100 dollars for the lifetime sale. That would have gotten me to buy it instantly. It's 100 dollars down to 200... I was actually going to buy it if it was 100 dollars total. 8\

The only other thing that might be worth it(although too much for me.) is if the backdated the zen to the beginning of the game. So, 6k zen per year on top of future zen. That would be 66,000 zen. That would probably be worth it for a lot of people. Not sure on the effect on the in game economy though. I assume dil would go up and keys would go down. Might be good for everyone.

Maybe if they did a half sale. Get full LS pass but half the backended zen. Then a full price one. Then have it on sales. This could come with the options to upgrade to get more zen. It would be more valuable over time. Maybe up to 3 tiers. Full price, 2/3 price, 1/3 price. And each comes with that much backended zen. Or more tiers would be nice if people wanted a cheaper version. The LS doesn't have that much in it besides the zen.

To be fair... you weren't quite clear on which platform you were asking about in your opening post.

Perhaps the text in the lifetime subscription sale should be updated once every ten years -
Retail inclusion effective September 23, 2010. Lifetime subscription covers your subscription fee for as long as the game is in service.
Seeing things like this makes me think the lights are on but nobody is home.

The console one is badly named as a lifetime subscription since its the veteran perks and not an alternative to an actual sub.

Not something I'd ever consider getting for the asking price on console and on PC the only perk my LTS makes use of these days is the lazy mode for refining. The monthly zen comes in but will happily sit until such a time that cryptic the greedonomic approach to monetising the game.

Sorry, but again.. this is a case of the ad couldn't be more clear.

The link you gave says the Lifetime Sub is on sale for all platforms. The Zen stipend isn't listed on the main page because it's not available on console. If they listed it there as an advertised feature, then console player shout 'false advertising' or better yet.. 'bait and switch' because people like to say that when they don't know what it actually is.

There is a big shiny button at the bottom that takes you to the subscription page for PC (it explains that console players find it in the C-Store.) On that page, it lists the Zen Stipend for PC Players.

Again, Cryptic has their issues with clarity.. this isn't one of them. Any and all needed information is very clearly provided.

It's not clear. they need to list it and say that it's available on pc and not on console.

It's absolutely clear, considering in the Zen store on Console, the option to buy it is up all the time and it lists everything it provides.

I'm sorry, but the unclear part is if the zen is included. And the formatting is a bit hard to read. It's important it's easy to see at a first glance and not after the second or third time you read something. There is a way the brain works. Normally things are formated based on that so you know someone will clearly understand the text as fast as possible. This is a bit messy.

That does not seem to be common knowledge anymore.

It's also horrendously bad practice to maintain separate documents for that information. simply put in if that version does or does not include zen. It would also help get rid of confusion if that specific ad is for PC or console. It doesn't mention that in any easy to see way either. It's a bit of a mess. they need to put the most relevant info on the front most facing ad so people can find it. It's pretty confusing looking for info like this. There is too much potential for negative information and confusion from it. You can't tell if something is or isn't true without specifics. That causes confusion. Never assume your reader does the work for you and knows what is not written.

Yes, they need to hold my napkin. It's their jobs and it's proper writing. This is how real world standards work. Wether you or others understand the reason or not.

That is now how ads work. If it doesn't say it it cannot be implied. This is peoples money. Quit argueing if you can't comprehend that. Not everyone knows. What you are saying is childish and disruptive to anyone trying to find information. And if it's not written there is no way of knowing if they changed it.

No need to get snippy and assume people lack understanding. Lets remember, you're the one here that doesn't understand.. not everyone else, so lets chill a bit on the insinuation that people lack comprehension ok?

You make many assumptions in your argument, and one of those is that there is some proper standard for advertisements that this page does not conform to. I would maintain that your idea of the 'standard' is actually completely backward. This has to be written to take into account the fact that there are 2 variations of the Lifetime Membership. The membership is not the same for PC as it is for console, when you run their description together as Cryptic has done in the past, that is how things get genuinely confusing. This forces the reader to try and pick when reading which statements are for what platform, this is a concept that should be avoided.

The description paragraph gives you the basic information that is true for both versions:
Enjoy all the rewards that come with being a Lifetime Subscriber. With exclusive species unlocks like playable Talaxian Species, instant access to all Lifetime Rewards, to Priority Login, there are dozens of reasons to become a lifetime subscriber today! For more information on all the great rewards that come with being a subscriber, check out our blog here.

This is good.. this information is accurate and the reader does not have to guess which version this applies to since it is universal to both platforms. The part that is left out is the Zen Stipend and that is clearly intentional, it's left out so that console players won't be confused into believing they are also getting the stipend which, of course, they do not.

Then they tell you how to proceed if you're interested at this point:
To subscribe on PC, click the button below. On Console, you can find the Lifetime subscription in the Zen Store!

If you're a console player, you are instructed to look up the pack in game in the C-Store. From there, you will find everything advertised here in the description along with your buying options. PC players click the button as instructed, they are taken to another page where all benefits including the Stipend are clearly laid out before you buy.

Again, there is nothing ambiguous about this advertisement, the ad is clearly written with the intention of preventing console players from making the mistake of buying under the impression they get a stipend. You said something in a previous post that is key here:

There is not A way the brain works my friend, not when it comes to cognition and comprehension. Those things are uniquely individual and just because something is clear to one person doesn't make it clear to everyone. Just as my assertion that this ad is clear won't apply to everyone, your assessment that it's ambiguous is also not all encompassing.

No one is saying there is anything wrong with you, no one is insulting your intelligence, people just perceive things differently. Your viewpoint is understood, it's simply that some people don't see it the same way as you.

No one here is lacking understanding, just differing in opinion.

You only get the zen stipend on PC, consoles don't. As an alternative method console can buy their lifetime subs with zen, meaning you can be lifetime without sinking a dime into it if you do some grinding. The ad is clear on this unfortunately. Unless you see something listed in the rewards, assume it's not part of it.
