KDF Recruit Character crash on selection (Afterlife bug)

I may be having the same problem as these folks here:

but I cannot tell if they are talking about a specific mission or a step in a mission. Either way, they all seem to be tied to Gre'thor. My problem is very similar. I start the mission just fine. Progress to the ferry. Get to the end of that and go to the temple. At the end of that I meditate to go to Gre'thor. That's when the game crashed. On character select screen, it says location:Gre'thor but when I try to log in with this character it continues to crash to Home Screen.

I've tried rebooting. I've tried switching KDF and Fed toons and they log in just fine. When I switch back to my KDF recruit, It crashes every time. I can't remember if there is a mission time out where it just forces you to abandon mission to start over so I am going to wait 15 min before I try to log into that toon again.

Are there any workarounds for stuck characters? Was looking forward to this KDF event but it has been more frustrating than anything.

    I let the game sit for an hour then logged back in with the stuck toon. I was able to get back in and was on the step "gre'thor" with no way to continue. I was outside in sector space. I abandoned the mission so I am good to go but I'm not touching that quest until we get some update on the bug.

    My series X crashes to home screen when you hit A to "sail to Grethor". I have to launch a different toon before I can get back in that toon in sector space.

    Same here. Crashes every time I try to leave the boat to Grethor. No way to resume the mission so you have to drop it and restart from the beginning only for it to crash again at the same spot.

    I have had the same issue, I tried reinstalling and rebooting. I finally submitted a ticket, here is the reply.

    We've received other reports of this same issue. It is a known issue and the developers are currently investigating.

    Unfortunately Customer Service is unable to resolve the issue directly so we will need to wait for the fix to come from the development team.

    From our current information, a potential fix is expected to come either today or tomorrow according to their email thread

    Hahaha oh my! I haven't laughed so hard in ages, please stop my guts is bursting and it is so hard to breathe, resolved today hahahhahaha or Tomorrow, no no no please stop I can't take all this laughter. I gotta go pee now.

    I also am having this problem. Defeat the Ferryman, convince the three guys I killed a while ago to join me, the Tormentor of the Dead appears, defeat him, Kahless says "Let's go to Gre'thor", loading screen, crash to home screen.

    Maybe if we're lucky they'll also fix the "phaser weapons have no sound" problem. (lolololololol)

    It's fixed as of 01.42 05/03/2021 guys, latest patch seems to have fixed it.
