Duty Officer Donation Dilemma: suggestion

corinthalascorinthalas Member Posts: 2,331 Arc User
It might take you some time to track down the cause, and we can acknowledge that weird issues like this one can be a problem to address. However, in the mean time, I'd like to suggest a 'solution' of sorts -- disable the recruiting missions at the respective academies and on New Romulus. And for the captains who are currently unusable due to a filled overflow bag -- due to a system you created incentivizing mindlessly amazing all those duty officers -- a free 25-slot duty-officer token for all captains. That will pull the hamstrung captains out of the fire and let them sort things out on their own until the duty officer dilemma is addressed.

    And for those new KDF recruits who might actually use the recruiting contacts to fill out their rosters?

    If you don't want the DOffs don't do the assignments. Not that I would ever use those contacts for use in completing fleet projects anyways. The only advantage from using the contacts is you get to target the Tactical, Engineering, & Science classes. It takes two days using up four assignment slots to get around eight DOffs using the contacts. A critical success on the defection assignment uses up only one slot in the same two days and the purple DOff awarded can be stripped down to 27 random white ones.

    Huh, people use those recruiting missions for the Fleet doff donations? I just go to the starbase and buy stacks of 25/50 white doffs of the correct type and immediately donate them. Only lose a few FC on the transaction. /shrug

    I would not turn off the doff assignments for the reasons mentioned by others above.

    If they can't fix it this week, though, having a duty officer expansion offered as compensation to get people out of a jam might not be a bad idea.

    instead of white doffs, occasionally green doffs . those slots could be changed to FM donations. with min. 500 members. not even an armada of t5 fleets provide enough FM slots currently.

    I don't know of anyone that use the DOFFs from the recruiting missions to advance fleet projects and while you never know, I highly doubt they're enough to truly make a difference. Disabling those few missions aren't going to help any, imho, and in fact will just hinder those that use them to populate their roster with DOFFs.

    While the bug is annoying and I can't wrap my head around it - because they were supposedly fixing the Endeavors reward boxes for the Klingon Recruit, so theoritically the two systems aren't linked in any way - I think we just need to be patient.
    What I do in cases were my overflow bag is full of DOFFs that I can't donate for whatever reason is:
    - Send DOFFs from character's A roster to character B;
    - Empty character's A overflow into the roster;
    - Send DOFFs from character's A roster to character C for momentary holding.

    It's a bit of work to do, but at least I can still use character A in the mean time.

    @jennycolvin , it was because of this ,
    We're making a change in the game to make Admiralty, Doffing, TFOs and Patrols only available post-tutorial for all factions.

    Oh right... I forgot about this.
    Still doesn't make a lick of sense for it to end up to the point where people can't donate DOFFs into *fleet projects*.
