Do you Regret getting lifetime subcription when you did

i got my lifetime sub towards end of 2013/begining of 2014 at the time it was on sale and i was really enjoying the game so i though why not i had spent a decent amount of money on the game buying new ships etc and rather then paying monthly gold sub i would go the whole hog and go lifetime looking back now knowing what i know now about the game and where we where we are in the game now i have come to the conculsion if could go back now i would not get the lifetime sub yes the 500 zen a month is good and i am grateful for that but there is not really any other Perks in having a lifetime sub, yes you can go to captains table but thats nothing special just a space station same as esd and no one goes there
so my question is do you regret getting lifetime subcription and looking back now would have not got it when you did

Go spend 20 bucks on a movie, tell me how long that lasts you and what you take away from it.
I got a life sub at full price mid-2014. I sent $300 to Cryptic partly to get the benefits of a life sub, and partly because I had played the game for 3 months at that time, it had been a good distraction for me from other things going on, and I wanted to send Cryptic a 'thank you, good job' in a meaningful fashion. If you're a business, dollars are the best thank you you can get.
I have complained a lot about Cryptic over the years. Mostly because they're an okay company, that makes a lot of foolish mistakes, with a pretty good game. When they could be and should be a great company with an awesome game.
But the value of a life sub? No, I've never complained about that.
I still like the game but the Life-Time sub is just not worth it anymore.
As it is now its not really worth getting for me even on discount. I have the 900days vet stuff; and dishing out 150 bucks for the last step is just a plain no go.
I'd put money in for a 1 or 2 month sub though to get the 1k full at least
Hello rubber banding my old friend, time to bounce around the battlezone again, where are all my bug reports going?, out of love with this game I am falling, As Cryptic fail to acknowledge a problem exists, Shakes an angry fist, And from Support all I'm hearing are the sounds of silence.
I started playing in Early 2014 and decided that the LTS wasn't worth the money. At that time, I didn't expect that 6 years later I would still be playing the game. If I knew that, I probably would have done it just for the 500 Zen per Month alone. Over that many years, you more then get your money back.
I do consider it 'too late' now.. that's just my opinion. I would never consider a LTS now with the current state of the game, but I somewhat regret not pulling the trigger in 2014. I just didn't think I would play long enough to validate the purchase and spent the money elsewhere.
Not a huge issue overall, there honestly is nothing outside of the Zen Stipend that I even want in the LTS Pack. It just would have been a nice perk. I would never consider it today, even on sale.

They would have still gotten my money. I would have just gotten something more valuable to me.
Buying it now or on console:
It's not a good value compared to ship bundles, especially the Legendary Pack.
It's a luxury for well-off players. It does have nice but minor features that enhance gameplay:
- Automatic dil refinement for up to 7 days
- Extra respec tokens
- The Manticore and other-faction versions
- Environmental suits
- Extra boff, ship, dry dock, inventory slots
- 5% XP gain
- Fireworks, yay!

What I do regret is the lack of Zen Charge Bonuses during the introductory sales of the Stealing Time Bundle and the T'Liss Bundle. Their Sales have been retrograding of late.

That being said, I do not think that the LTS does enough today to warrant it and I'm not sure I would buy it now. The fact that Cryptic is more concerned about lockbox ships and R&D ships makes the zen almost useless. Especially if you have been playing for 5+ years and purchased most of the zen ships that interest you. For my play style (and I'm sure others), the main purpose of zen is ships. If you aren't putting ships in the z store then I don't need zen. Not to mention that 500 is not enough for anything.
If they wanted to make the LTS actually be worth it they need to add some things to the subscription. A few things I would suggest:
1. Increase zen from 500 to a 1000 per month. (this gives you a 3 month window for a t6 ship which imo is reasonable, especially after investing $200-300 for the LTS)
2. Add a small amount of lobi per month (maybe 10).
3. Give 1 bound key every month.
4. Every R&D promotion award one bound R&D box to LT subscribers.
5. Offer LT subs the ability to unlock a lockbox, lobi, promo, or even a Phoenix box ship (you already own) for the account twice a year by buying an item from the winter and summer event stores with a 365 day cooldown.
6. Unrelated but still important put more ships in the z store and move past the gamble boxes.
To answer your question I do not regret it but not sure I would do it today.
They're experimenting with that already: Mudd's Market, Fed Legendary Pack, Legendary T'Liss.

She's just an avid gamer who enjoys many games, so she's playing something different every week and gets around to STO sometimes and we then just hang together while she does whatever she feels like doing while there.
Not at all. Got my LTS in 2012 after starting to play the previous year. Has been good value for my entertainment dollar.

However if I look at it today, literally, I see a LTS discount now for the second time since I reinstalled the game and I wouldn't buy it. 500 Zen per month is ok, however most other minor perks are more or less useless, the Captain's Table for example was never really useful in the first place and I'm pretty sure nobody would even miss it if they would remove it from the game entirely.
i played this game like from one month b4 it became f2p until...dunno, like 2015/16. no idea either when i did get me a lifetimesub, must've been like around 1 year after gettin in at the max...
i got it in the 1st place because the pvp system at the time was quite appealing! good balance overall, with some major bugs though. i could jump on any ship and, with gear just picked up along the way, could compete with anything else one could encounter.
hard learning curve for sure, but one of the best(!) pvp systems i ever did played in!
while with, i think season 4 or 5 (essentially when fleet gear been added), the addition of "improved" types of gear the sheetfest began so to say.... should've known lol.
took me 6k bucks in the end and like 5 years to realize that from pov this game is not worth a single dime! if it would've been a star trek game, even more lead by star trek spirit in the development and community(!), that gives any kind of player a home (in the sense of trek :P!), this would differ.
but essentially, to quote gekko, "we're selling ships".... and that's it. as for the community, never encountered less tolerant people than in here ever!
one only gotta say "pvp" and holes open allaround lol, just to spit out a mass of narrow "opinions" with no connection to argument or logic lol.
it's pure hatred, and led in the end (supported by the games staff; gekko again: "pvp'ers are 12 years old, living in their moms basement", after he got slapped hard in pvp on his shiny new excelsior) to the total extinct of a part of the game, which 1st off (by original publisher, atari....) was meant to be an integral part of the game....
so hear me out "trekkies" (lol): u essentially made pvp go extinct. now tell me how that fits into trek, to make things extinct?!
"never meant for pvp", "trek not pvp" xD..... no words really. u made it extinct, bravo star trek lol :facepalm:....
to conclude:
i regret every single dime i did spent on this moneyprinting machine in star trek disguise. it's just a generic scene/mmo, nothing special really about it anymore for years. only in st shape, and that's all the trek u gonna find in here ever...
but feel free to keep on feeding em for ur 30 mins of spacebarbie after work. it will prevent a decent star trek game for quite some more years i guess, gj!
on a note:
me, as someone with patience in moments of no-choice lol, and ngh trek in me to keep some hope, i still look into the forum from time to time. to see if the miracle happens. shutdown or real attempt of balanced pvp, i'd welcome both. while i clearly give my bet on shutdown in that regard lol.... but it won't happen anytime soon... coz: 30 mins of spacebarbie, ahoi....

They just get less sober.
But after the game went free to play? I guess it really doesn't make sense unless it's on sale or something.. I've never really used any of the lifetime perks, but like mentioned. Back in the day it was cheaper in the long run than coughing up the monthly subscription fee.. Also you had something called priority login.
