Items Cannot be sent via Mail

in Xbox One Gameplay Bug Reports
Items can be attached but not actually sent via the Mail system. Tried mailing to friend's character and to my own characters but items always remained in the inventory after mail is sent.

    A couple of things, though I am sure you already know them, but it is a process to go through to find things out so sorry in advance.
    Did you get the persons address correct?
    Are the items Account or Character bound?
    There are some items that cannot be sent via mail, although with that said they usually can't be attached in the first place.

    As I said you are probably already aware of these but I don't know that :)

    EVERYTHING was correct but thank you for trying to be helpful in pointing out things an inexperienced mail user might miss. I have been mailing Lore chips to myself & friends for years. ITEMS STILL CANNOT Be Mailed as of this update.

    This really needs to be fixed at the next maintenance.

    I've just won a T6 ship in a fleet raffle, but they can't send it to me because the mailing system doesn't work properly.

    I used to mail duty officers between characters too as you can't use the Account Bank for that. Can't do that either now.

    You can have the ship sent via Trade. Just stand near each other, click on you and initiate Trade.

    Well paint me green and call me a cucumber! I've been playing for nearly two years and didn't know you could do that. Doh!

    As additional informtion on the mail of my account not working properly in regards to items on my xBox account. Another gamer with gamertag of N8QQW tried to send items to my mail, at the mail console, the mail failed to send and the items were placed back in his inventory.

    Steps to recreate follow:

    1. When I try to send items via mail, at the mail console, the mail fails to send and the items are placed back in my inventory.
    2. This can be recreated by having any gamer try and send any item in a mail, while at the mail console, to any of my mail accounts: Chance@Geoffschar, T’lir@Geoffschar, Nada@Geoffschar, Justice@Geoffchar, K’erk@Geoffschar or Garth@Geoffschar
    -> the expected result would be the mail sends
    -> the actual result is the mail does not send and the item will not be removed from the inventory.
    3. I can send mail without any item to my mail account or other gamer mail accounts, but not when I try to add an attachment
    4. I do receive back any of the items that I have place on the exchange, but cannot send items, while at any mail console

    Please let me know if there is any additional information I can provide.

    Several players I know are having the issue, I'm having the issue, seems xbox platform wide. It's very easy for a dev to test/confirm. The items will remain in inventory, the mail itself won't go to the recipient. The failure produces no error messages on screen. Note, fleet mails still work as do mails without attachments.

    I was hoping the extended maintenance last night they would fix the Mail issue but they didn't, in fact I can't find any of the issues that were fixed, they all still seem to be as broken as before, so have no idea just what they supposedly worked on

    Regular server maintenance that they do yearly hence no patch notes.

    Soon after maintenance the STO Community Manager tweeted for info about the problems on console with the mailing system and teaming, with a view to dealing with it. So hopefully a fix is in the pipeline. Haven't heard any more since.

    it was not mentioned, but i was now able to send items again after the update today

    If that is the case, then I retract my comment. I am currently away from home and can't check myself. I guess I just assumed the patch notes included all the major fixes.

    I still can't send anything via mail. normal messages work but not items.
