Here is the thing: asking for any existing game to be "completely remade" to look like another game is a "completely" unrealistic request. That fact is not exclusive to this game, and will also be true if you post such a request on any other game's messageboards. It is also typically unproductive and inflammatory to request sequels to existing games that are still being actively developed and played, because those players will view it as you suggesting they lose all of their 'hard work' invested in the current game.

Not true. Look at how Path of Exile is approaching POE2. EVERYTHING gets migrated to the new version. I do realize that my post might seem a unrealistic but where else should someone ask the question when google reveals nothing? I was just hoping you guys knew or had heard of something. I wan't trying to be a TRIBBLE or anything like that, I'm just a player returning to the game after a 5 year vacation and was wondering if STO had any plans for future development. Thanks.
PS: Imagine if STO2 looked and felt like Star Citizen. The game would be the most epic game of all time. One that I could see myself playing forever....
Yeah, asking for a new version of a game to be like a game that never gets released???

Star Citizen has collected $250 million in funding and still hasn't shipped Squadron 42 or the full online game after 9 years in development.
So... STO 2 in 2030? Maybe!
Right! I am so happy I did not jump on that band wagon but I have a coworker who did and the game looks astonishing (on a monster PC of course). If Cryptic ever makes another STO, I would be happy to shove out some $$$.
Meanwhile, we still get new story episodes and TFOs in old-school STO 1.
This I know. I jumped back on roughly a month ago and have been playing daily ever since. I really missed this game as I am a MASSIVE Star Trek fan. It just sucks since everyone I used to play with has since left the game. Time to make new friends!

I'll take breaks and sometimes just log in to do the minimum number of days for the daily event, but as long as they keep adding new content I'll keep playing at least some of the time.
There's nothing saying that if you play, you need to play continuously. Leaving when you get tired, coming back when you want to play again, leaving, coming back... is fine. And there's no subscription fee so you aren't "wasting money" if you skip days.

Eh... No. Besides... SC isn't even finished yet! Dang things been in development for... what? almost 15 years now and there STILL really isn't much?
Can't Chris Roberts just bring back good old Wing Commander? We still have the Nephilim posing a threat to the galaxy after all.
I can't take it anymore! Could everyone just chill out for two seconds before something CRAZY happens again?!

I loved Wing Commander but No Man's Sky kinda took the place of that game for me. NMS is another game I love but it is SEVERELY lacking in meaningful content. 5 Galaxies deep.....same content as the first...
asking for an STO2 is covered under FCT list. Please familiarize yourself with the list that was kindly linked by davefenstrator above.
also, let STO be STO and Star Citizen be Star Citizen.

C'mon now. You know that is not what I meant at all. Lets keep this conversation 35+ shall we?
