Improved Gravity Well Trait - Recharge Reduce what?

neohunter200neohunter200 Member Posts: 101 Arc User
I hope somebody can help me understand about the Improved Gravity Well Trait. In particular, the 20 second recharge reduction for Gravity Well skill.

My Gravity Well III's recharge time is about 40.7 seconds. So, the Improved Gravity Well Trait is supposed to reduce that by 20 seconds. However, it has a disclaimer that says the recharge time of Gravity Well can never go below 40 seconds. So, is this passive recharge time reduction a joke?

the shared cd from gravity well with itself is 40 seconds. so if you're already at 40 seconds there will be no effect at all.
at the end the trait will reduce the gw cooldown from its usual 60 seconds down to 40 so you could basically have 1 gw running all the time. the major benefit from the trait is the increased duration by 20 seconds, so you have your gw 40 seconds instead of 20.

Well your particular problem is that you have so much cd reduction as it is that you get no benefit from the trait. Someone without all that cd reduction does benefit from it, though.

I think most people prefer to use it for the double duration on the GW, though.

I love this trait myself, but I've been a devout follower of the Demon Goddess EPG for years. YMMV

It's particularly useful in the Pahvo Turkey Shoot. You group 'em up and some Scimitard or CSV artist just mows 'em down. I notice that Gravity Wells in general do not pull as hard as they used to, but they've been nerfed several times.

Improved Grav Well is pretty much a must for a Megawell build. Very fun to see things get yanked from 20k away into a murderball. >:)

True, though slipping in Amsoti (chance to knock engines offline) and a Psychological Warfare trait (+20% pull) helps a lot.

Excellent suggestions, but the last time I looked at the Psychological Warfare trait in the Exchange it was hideously expensive.

I believe your Mega Gravity Well has found new home in the version from the Glenn-class Legendary Temporal Operative Science Vessel, as every time I've seen it, the well has increased range by like some magnitude, and also the Plasma Storm console from the Maquis Raider with it melt things so fast, I'm amazed they've not been nerfed...add in the Temporal Vortex Console from the last event....for some fun?

Try the Legendary Intrepid for some real fun.

I don't think the Legend Intrepid's trait is useful, but I think it does have a pretty good BOff layout.

God I wish they'd come back for individual releases. Not everyone can drop $300 in one go. I would SOOOOO grind those ships out over time.
