Beam Training not appearing

Most of my toons were created a long time ago and I periodically go back and play with traits or ships. One of my characters, a female liberated borg at max level, seems to be missing the Beam Training trait. I understood that this trait was available for all characters regardless of race. Thinking I might be able to solve the issue myself with buying the superior version from K13, I visited the vendor but the option simply doesn't exist.
I've tried respeccing without success. I have a male liberated borg which does seem to have the trait so I can't work out why she's missing it.
Am I missing a pre-requisite?

Initially, it seemed to be missing fro me too, but I realised I had the Ground Trait list up instead of the Space Traits. It might be worth checking you didn't make the same mistake I just did.
Thanks for checking your character. Unfortunately, even after checking multiple times, there's no Beam Training there.

Could there be some other trait that modifies it and it appears under a new name? Try unselecting all your other traits and see if it re-appears in the list?
Failing that, your best bet is to wait and find out what Support comes back with.
