Keys locked?

so I purchased around 90 keys yesterday and went to sell them only to find out that they are bound to my account for the next 10 days (7 on one and 3 on another stack) what? why is this a thing, I want to sell the keys to make some quick EC so I can get a ship, I've never had a problem with this sort of thing before. was there a rule added in one of the updates or is this something else entirely? any help or fixes would be greatly appreciated.

I quote something sthe91 and I wrote on that regarding automatic fraud prevention system instead of trying to make a new post now. this discussion appeared on https://www.arcgames.com/en/forums/startrekonline#/discussion/comment/13545193

onebadshredder, this is an anti-fraud protection measure and with Steam you have to wait a certain amount of days. I do not believe this is the case if you use Arc for your financial transactions. It is an inconvenience but just wait. Thanks. :)
You are right that it's regarding to the automatic fraud prevention system (probation), and that by wait it's automatically lifted after a while (usually 7-10 days I think).

Some things might label your account suspicious/for suspicious activity, probably 1st buy with steam wallet is frequently one of them. It may be triggered though in some other cases. Possibly some other cases of 1st buy/changing payment info, but I don't know the details and sensitivity.

This post is only supplemental (with links)

Official update to original official post regarding this issue: https://www.arcgames.com/en/forums/startrekonline#/discussion/comment/13482910

For reference, the official OLD post (which had the update above - especially items bound for that reasons are no longer perma-bound): https://www.arcgames.com/en/forums/startrekonline#/discussion/1171380/fraud-prevention-system-probation/p1

Note that it does NOT mean you really did something bad. Some people were false positively triggered that system and it's known*

But wait it over and it will pass. You may maybe just in case approach support in that regard for evidence of buy and that it's you etc but they can not lift auto probation term successfully AFAIK. It just ends in time, usually within 7-10 days.

It is in place to actually protect players (and their accounts) from others exploiting and misusing their account for their benefit and stealing from them e.g. into other accounts by that temporary measure, until the situation is clear and/or suspicion is cleared - this is what takes time, but yes I know it "misfires" sometimes but the effect is temporary in case of false positives at least.

(*e.g. 1st buy/possibly buy on steam wallet (especially the 1st buy on steam is very notorious to cause that, but possibly not only the 1st?) or a buy of a bigger than usually mount MAYBE/a buy after changing payment method or details in the past could have a higher chance triggering this by some reports, but could be things changed for the better in that regard and also not always the system is triggered by such AFAIK.)

My advice: I know keys are only bound temporarily and allegedly what they open is so too, but JUST IN CASE wait before opening things with those keys until this is lifted. same goes with any buys which are not for your account - again, JUST IN CASE do not buy such until the temp binding made by system probation is lifted. (things should NOT become perma bound anymore but we don't want potential bugs and issues.) TEMP binding is "CONTANGIOUS" in the regard of that what you open with those key will get the status of a temp binding, as well as what you buy now in c-store as long as that temp system probation status is not lifted from your account.

Have the same problem. This was not Steam but Arc purchase. This have never been an issue until now and I've actually been buying a lot of zen over the years.
But now bam! all of the sudden everything is locked for 7days.

What ever triggers their fraud protection scheme is broken and makes no sense. If the system detects possible fraud why lock only 40 of 100 keys as it recently did to someone? If someone was being fraudulent they still got away with 60 keys.

    That was me sadly.

I had the same issue but got it sorted by sending in a ticket to ask for help.
How ever.. while they can remove the probation timer on account, any items purchased while on probation will still have their cooldowns sadly.

One way to make sure you don't get any items locked is to check the zen so to speak before using it.
Open inventory > Assets > Exchange > Sell Zen.
On the sell zen tab there will be red writing warning about probation.
in which case you can just send in a ticket explaining the situation.

    Hope this helps.
