Issue with audio

The audio in STO isn't coming through my speakers. I can hear other games through my speakers but not STO. I can change the output to headphones and the HDMI monitor and it works, but sound will not come through my speakers. It worked earlier today but stopped after logging back in. How do I fix this?

I have tried restarting the computer, the game, and updating drivers and nothing works.

    Check your 'Audio' tab in OPTIONS after hitting ESC.

    Make sure it's set to speakers, or try the various options, at least until you hear sound...

    Thanks, for your suggestion, but as I said in my post I can make it come through my headphones and my HDMI connected monitor but not my speakers.

    Today, for no apparent reason, when I logged in the audio was again coming through my speakers.
