The other day I spent a fair bit of time and EC building the perfect shuttle. When I finished I got sad because I remembered how little shuttle content there is. This is the 4th time I've done this. There's 3 missions, 1 patrol and the 2 queues that never pop because they're not included in the random selection as far as I know. The foundry added a few missions but that's gone now.
I don't need much. A mission or two maybe? Even if they just added the current shuttle TFOs to the random selection it'd help. A TFO where players in shuttles have to complete objectives to support players in starships would be amazing but I'm not expecting that to happen.
Is anyone else up for this? I'm not the only person on here that loves shuttles am I?
Also there are still a few shuttles they can add in game, like the 22nd Century Shuttlepod, the 24th Century Type-6, Type-9, Type-11, that mission scout ship from Insurrection, the Argo shuttle...
I like the idea of shuttle content, but shuttles are terribly boring. They are all basically the same, and you can't do much to build them in interesting ways for shuttle content.
If they fixed shuttles to be actually interesting to play and have some build strategy, it might be worth it. I don't think the investment would be worth it though.
Breach could have been scaled back to become a shuttle one. Certainly makes more sense to be flying a small fighter into the belly of a beast than one of the pancake ships.
can we not... sorry but it's nothing but a zerg feast. it's not like your inside a cockpit doing dog fighting... ala a combat sim. your getting aoe from all sources... all energy attacks are auto locked... ala snowballs that track and curve to hit 100% of the time if the RNG says it's a hit. Just a time delay for the number to float about your head/ship. Playing that shuttle mission repeatedly on my various Rom toons burnt me out on shuttle missions.
Personally, I'd like to see them revamp shuttles, mechanically, before adding more content for them. Atleast one of each boff seat and innate abilities based on the type of craft. (fighters get pilot maneuvers, shuttles get cruiser-command like abilities, etc.)
That said, I still think a shuttle 'battlezone' themed around crafting/collecting in a cloudy asteroid field would be interesting. Protecting/Escorting Mining ships, clearing out minefields, earning special small craft-only weapons with a mining modifier, etc.
The fun thing with shuttles is to have 20 of them in a mission. I miss the old NWS shuttle version. When it comes to diversity, there's an old but good thread on reddit with shuttle builds.

Different universal consoles and weapons open up a few options. My Scorpion Fighter uses its Multi target tractor emitters to absolutely devestating effect against fighter swarms. My heavy weapons Delta Flyer picks apart larger targets with the Romulan Hyper Plasma torpedos. You're right though, shuttles could use a bit of a revamp. An extra boff slot and some other abilities would be great.

I forgot the name but I remember a foundry mission where you had to take your shuttle inside a Borg Cube. I was ducking behind pillars to heal up & popping out for attack runs. It's not a combat sim but there's more to it than the usual pressing of the spacebar.
'Atmospheric Assault' Advanced during a Shuttle Weekend Event was the best for Mark payout, and you only needed 5 Players to go. 330 or so Marks with the Daily Bonus

I play pvp dogfighting in an open world. It's extremely hard, with an insanely high skill ceiling and quite high skill base too, but very rewarding and intense and fun. STO is like going pewpew with a model ship in comparison. No.
Devs: Provide the option to Turn OFF full screen flashes from enemy ship explosions

Of particular note as to why this would be an exceptionally bad idea is a Romulan-only mission, I forget the title, in which the player has to stop an Elachi ground assault. To call that one frustrating would be akin to saying it's a bit dry in the Sahara.

I like the idea of shuttle TFOs, but the game engine and shuttle/fighter build limitations keep them from working very well.
Why would I want to give up my top of the range star ship to fly a low powered (hard to see) shuttle?
