Talaxian equip bug?

in PC Gameplay Bug Reports
I have had trouble being able to equip mission reward items on my Talaxian character. One was a Stealth armor, don't remember the details on it, but then a weapon Vaadwaur Pulsewave Pistol. It says that I do not meet the requirements when I try to equip it.

    What MK is the weapon, and are you the appropriate level to use it?

    I have had this issue before on another character, the item is MK X and my toon was Admiral lower half, so able to use but I couldn't equip it until I hit lvl 50 Vice Admiral for some reason.
