...in a science ship variant? In fact, all of them in sci flavor. The Roms in particular are really hurting for a decent science vessel. I really like the design and would fly it regardless, but no secondary deflector is a deal-breaker for any serious sci captain

What are the Multi-Mission Science Vessels then? Chopped Liver?
I can understand wanting more options for Science, since I love Science ships, too, but there is no need to claim that the Romulans have no good Science Vessels. They just could have more.
But I fear Science is the red-headed step child among player preferences. Everyone wants to fly Cruisers and maybe Escorts (or Escort/Cruiser hybrid wannabes like Warships.)
Actually I think Science is in a pretty good place. May not be Mainstream Meta, but Science can wreck house with the best of them. You get a Megawell Build going... dear god! All the things! All the explosions! In one location. lol
The current meta may focus on weapons, but Science can still keep up if you know what your doing. And ripping the universe a new one can be just as satisfying.
Roms hurting for a decent Sci Vessel....my Sci Rom would like to object to that statement.
I don't count the Operations Warbirds as "proper" sci ships, I'm prejudiced If it has a hangar bay...and the only other candidate I can think of is the Laeosa. If you're fed aligned, you can pilot the fed sci vessels anyway, but you lose out on the singularity powers and the cloak if you aren't piloting a warbird.
What's your ship?
The Galas Surveillance Explorer out of the Rom Multi-Mission pack, which are all full Science Vessels, secondary deflector AND hangar AND have Battle Cloak AND Singularity Drive.
Oh yeah, the Multi Mission pack is great on all three factions. The Gorn are lacking the cloak of course but come with better pets, Feds got the short straw here but still a great ship. Also, some of the cross faction sci focused vessels are not to be sneezed at (Ho'kuun and T'Pau both perform great, are not available at the moment though if you don't have them, and I also think the Sarr Theln, with the same caveat, is underrated, and the Eternal can be built into a monster. Both Cardi and Jem also do their jobs.).
But while it feels that we have every cruiser combination possible down to having the comm seat on the bridge outfitted for left handed people, choice of "true" faction Sci ships feels limited on non Fed toons.
Where I don't have the Paradox on toons, I use the Cardi Sci Dread over the MMSV's. Not bothered about lack of turn-rate, as they still make fearsome fighting machines.
The main thing that makes the MMSVs more attractive for Science is the full Temporal mechanic. If your build is more focused on science than weapons damage, being able to turn on that Support Config is a boost to that.
Had to be done.
