Morning everyone
Again, thanks to the fine folks at reddit/sto here is a post of notes regarding the livestream that occurred today discussing the new Temporal Warship ships. Again please note I had no hand in helping create these, and are simply copying it over here for you fine forum folks. Please note I know they discussed the reason for the weapon flavour type locking on the trait (as I and several others asked the question to Kael & Jette (Spartan) but these notes dont include that part. Will need to go back and re-watch the segment that had that part.

Livestream:
Theme: Temporal Warships!
Guest: ship designer Donny Versiga and systems designer Jette Leavens.
General:
Console's purpose is specifically to kill things, nothing else.
They "might" make some changes to damage type boost being tied to faction, but they want to see statistics on current version first.
They have many DIS ships that give out "sci ship" feel, but felt need for warships for all faction.
Thomas likes DIS ships because they aren't afraid to experiment.
Romulan BoP:
They wanted new romulan bird of prey wide rather than long, like TOS or ENT ones.
Choice of existing hull materials affected the final colouring, for example deflector was supposed to be red, but is blue.
One closest to intended is "Upgrade" one. Type 2 brown is Donny's personal pick.
As it's a curved and organic-looking ship, it ended up using more then average polys.
(Game world looks bizzare when looking trough modellers' filters.)
Have rear-facing weapon emplacements drawn.
It actually features double wing.
From test run, Jette upon Mike activating console: "Ooh, you hit the "fun" button." It looked nice in motion.
Jem'Hadar warship:
Mostly based on vanguard ships.
Fed warship:
Deflector is supposed to be distinctive point (it looks VERY peculiar).
They are aware that people expected Hoover to be sci ship.
KDF warship:
Merely DIS recreation.
Have obvious rear-facing turrets.
Rest:
JH vet ship is not too far away.
Systems department is aware about need for plasma set. They're working on it.
Game reacts BAD to attempts to just add item to player, with lags and freezes.
Mike is sure that T6 risian corvette is cursed and isn't going to make another try.
Devs too are suspectable to random unslotting of traits.
They are cautious regarding making ships with different that usual mechanics because of risks with both balancing and people actually (not) buying it.
They were replying to idea about ship with 8 hangar bays and secondary deflector, but no weapons.
They are looking about expanding loadouts' functionality, like including traits to saved things or switching between ground/space specialisations because of RTFOs.
Molecular Reconstruction Mechanic was the first thing Jette worked on as a systems designer.
Jette is working on something new and unrelated to things they talked about.

I keep getting "Network Errors" when playing...
Not that I am aware of. Might do a search soon to double check. If i find anything I will add a new post (as I am scared of the edit monster, that thing is still on the prowl)

Also, @foxman00 , your edit issue should be fixed.

Cool, thank you. I experienced a edit issue last week. So was kinda of worried the monster had arisen from the grave lol
One thing that really irks me is "Systems department is aware about need for plasma set. They're working on it." Like.. you wouldn't need to be working on it.. if you had made it already instead of spitting out more sets for weapons that already had sets.. Just saying sometimes its like
Hey plasma really needs a set with an omni beam, and some damage console like every other damage type has
Yeah your right, but I got this idea for ANOTHER polaron/phaser set
OH cool TRIBBLE plasma lets do that cause this needs to happen
Ok that was cool but THIS time we should do that plasma set to bring it back up to snuff
Yeah but check out this OTHER set
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAH!!! Yeah let's not do something that needs to be done, lets make this random thing instead!

Yeah. Though while that comment while informatative has peeve off several people I have spoken to when telling them about the stream today. Some have gone into full on rants laced with some choice words. I understand their frustration, but it is not like cryptic are intentionally not giving a plasma set so they can giggle and laugh at some sections of the playerbase.
Well, we will see in due time. Interested to see what the Jem Hadar veteran ship looks like (as we will know what its stats will be, maybe with some slight reductions if they get the wingman mechanic as well).
Nobody specifically. Why I understand their statement, who said it has to be a faction/episode? When the T6 Reputation upgrade hit, why not gave it then instaid of the Antiproton Support Omni beam the Competitive Wargames Reputation rewards in the Obfuscated Strategist Set. IMHO this was a very odd decision. Why pair Tetryon with Antiproton and not Tetryon with Plasma? Since its more logical: one targets shields and the other targets the hull...
Also, in case Jette or someone else from System Design sees this, Plasma doesnt have a Plasma Energy Torpedo either, not just a set omni beam... The new starship trait from Romulan Temporal Warship boosts Plasma Energy only, and while the other energy types all have an Energy Torpedo, Plasma, again, gets the end short of the stick...
Nobody specifically. Why it has to be a faction/episode? When T6 Reputation upgrade hit, why not make a Plasma Omni beam as an alternate option in the Obfuscated Strategist Set from Competitive Wargames Reputation. IMHO it would've made more sense to pair Tetryon with Plasma then Tetryon with Antiproton, since its more logical: Tetryon focus on shields, Plasma on hull...
Also, in case Jette or some1 else from System Designs check forums, plasma also doesnt have an Energy Torpedo. The new starship trait from Romulan Temporal Warship boots Plasma energy only, but there is no energy plasma torpedo... All other 3 traits, fed, kdf and dominion, have an energy torpedo to boost...
l don't know.
l really don't know what l'm about to say, except l have a feeling about it.
That l must repeat the words that come without my knowledge.'
Many thanks... I don't know why... but Twitch and I really don't seem to get along.

A normie goes "Oh, what's this?"
An otaku goes "UwU, what's this?"
A furry goes "OwO, what's this?"
A werewolf goes "Awoo, what's this?"
"It's nothing personal, I just don't feel like I've gotten to know a person until I've sniffed their crotch."
"We said 'no' to Mr. Curiosity. We're not home. Curiosity is not welcome, it is not to be invited in. Curiosity...is bad. It gets you in trouble, it gets you killed, and more importantly...it makes you poor!"
Pirates, mercenaries, rebels, Romulans, Ferengi, Borg (sort of), alternate universe/timeline versions of factions or races, or a race that is new to the game.
Like "Echoes of Light" giving a nausicaan set because we shot some nausicaan mercs in the last bit. Incidentally, nausicaans should be using plasma in space if we're doing the canon references.
Nothing stopped them putting a tetryons in the "Krenim Temporal Manipulation" set, even though the krenim NPCs in the game use polarons.
The last weapon set before "the morphogenic thing" was the trilithium set from "Beyond the Nexus" that was completely made up as a Generations reference. There was nobody in the actual mission who would've realistically have been packing trilithium weapons, much less any logical reason to give them to the player.
Same for the quantum phase set, made up just to follow the technobabble term "quantum phase inhibitor" for the Tox Uthat featured in the mission (and got phaser type from the word "phase") even though the weapons neither look nor act anything like the Tox.
Why would making up an excuse to put in a plasma set be any harder?
For that matter, Quark's Lucky Seven had a perfect opportunity to put in a ferengi set and they didn't take it.
Yes, it does.

Ohh damm you right... completely forgot about that one... because its soo crappy and expensive that its not worth using it
