Are there any rumblings about a new recruit event?

I have a new theme for a toon, but I'll hold off if there is a new recruit event on the horizon

On Twitch streams Kael has commented that nothing of the sort is on the horizon at present, because making such events is exponentially more work than the uninitiated would imagine it to be.
"I'm sorry, I can't hear you over the sound of how awesome I am."

In a stream recently they said that rerunning the Temporal Agent, for instance, was problematic since it was tied into only a single faction. I imagine that this could prove true for Gamma as well, and nothing is preventing anyone from rolling those toons minus the event as is?

As a 23rd Century toon, I'd personally like to see Temporal Agent come back around. I created that toon after taking a long 'Frustration Break' and missed the Temporal Agent event by like 2 days. On the flip side, within a short time of creating that toon (Which has become my main) I found an awesome fleet, which made playing the game more fun and less frustrating.

Either way, it's probably for the best. I have too many toons as it is. I probably don't need to make another ;)

I get that it's difficult to create these events, but it really should be something they do more often. It serves as a great way to advertise and encourage a new player to jump into the game while earning some great end game benefits from doing what they would be doing anyway. It is also a good way for them to make their old content re-playable again for people who have been playing longer.

For me they really shot themselves in the foot by either 1. Doing them to begin with. or 2. By not doing more of them. Depending on your own personal view. Why? Because I won't level a new toon until/unless there is a leveling event going on (with new things to acquire when they rerun an old event) and I doubt I'm the only one. I'm not going to trudge through old content for no benefits. I will just play my main, or one of my deltas, or my temporal, or my gamma to complete any content they add which means I log in do what the hour worth of daily stuff I need to do (DOFFing, Admiralty, etc.) plus any event going on (adding in new content when it's there) and then log out. There is nothing that keeps me logged in for any length of time anymore.

It's dissapointing for me personally because I have a Cardassian that I would like to do, a DISCO toon, a liberated borg ToS crew, and another sci-fi series themed toon but nothing in the game encourages me to make more alts and trudge through old content and endless reputation and specialization grinds. My desire to make a cool new toon is quickly abated by the thought of the grind ahead.

They should really aim to have a new or updated recruitment event annually or least every couple of years. IMO (and I realize it comes down to time and money to hire devs) we should have a recruitment event with every new season (not the .5 seasons).

Want to up your play time metrics Cryptic? More leveling events.

I don't need one either but Captain Peter Parker with first officer Mary Jane Watson is too glorious to pass up.
