The consoles from the Discovery Legends reputation can no longer be salvaged.
And with that "fix" most of the interest I had in the equipment from all these rep boxes I'm getting went bye bye. I was REALLY hoping that being able to salvage these items was going to be the norm and that it'd be propagated to the other reps.
Oh well, if it sounds like it's too good to be true, it probably is. You'd think I'd learn that by now.
Hello. My name is iamynaught and I am an altaholic.
I also agree that changing the rep consoles to be non-salvageable is a step backwards (there is no reason why we shouldn't be able to salvage rep gear) but the rest of the notes look great.
Nice set of fixes. Looking forward to the Hangar pet fixes especially. Kinda disappointed in not being able to Salvage the drop consoles, I'd figured it as deliberate given the recent interest in lowering EC inflation.
Resolved an issue that would cause many hangar pets to get stuck in "Escort" mode, if this mode was ever selected.
This would then prevent them from properly docking, or following at full impulse.
Resolved an issue that would prevent some hangar pets from using Full Impulse in certain situations, where they should have been using it to catch up with their owner.
Added some missing AI conditions to Jem'Hadar Attack Ships, Jem'Hadar Gunboats, and Kelvin Timeline Assault Drones, which could cause them to become non-responsive to further commands, and stop using proper following behavior.
Resolved an issue on the Breen Plesh Brek and Vorgon Echentis hangar pets which could cause them to occasionally attempt to ram enemies, even though they were not equipped with a ramming ability.
Removed the limitation of needing targets to be within 15km in order to allow Hangar Pets to launch.
Launching Hangar Pets no longer evaluates your current target.
Hangar Pets in the "Attack" state should more reliably know when to follow their owner, based on distance from relevant foes.
This should also improve their "Full Impulse" behavior by extension, making them more frequently able to follow their owner.
Hangar Pets are now capable of increasing their speed momentarily if told to attack a distant target.
This should increase their time-on-target during the initial engagement period of combat scenarios.
So.... are you telling me hangar pet AI in general is actually fixed? Only the Gunboats ever seemed to work correctly. This is exciting news!

Well, we will have to test it on my Cestus, and Yukawa frigates
Actually, having to discard Consoles instead of Salvaging them instead means more EC being generated.

Glad hanger pets got some work. Any of this gonna help my drones to not seemingly die instantly when an enemy looks in their direction? The only time they stayed alive was when they were left 20km behind due to their speed issues.
Console players are getting a double down on events, snorefest over pahvo only started last week. Hopefully players won't be prevented from getting a daily token from both of the featured tfo's during the two week overlap.
Lifting the restriction to summon pets outside 15km is fine but you could do that anyway if no target was active. With the removal of the restriction this could easily mean that the player gets dumped into red alert status even further from the target as pets currently trigger from the player being 15km out and themselves another 15 behind. Hopefully this has been addressed with the restriction lift.
Kind of concerned that jem pets got poked as they were one of the few that actually worked and in the past poking the pets has just made them worse.
PC got the fix for the jem ships but console didn't even get a nod it was a known issue!

I actually prefer selling them for EC. Although, if we could sell them on the Exchange that would be better because adding a bonus to Critical Hit is pretty popular.

The notes say that Operation Riposte doesn't start until June 4th, so there won't be any overlap to worry about.
This is an MMO, not a Star Trek episode simulator. That would make for a terrible game.
Slight confusion on my part from combination of the backwards day month thing making me read it as 6th of april and cryptics habit of often not using the correct date.
Those hangar pet fixes are a welcome change, a long time coming though, I believe it's been over a year since I wrote up a rather detailed report on which pets were affected..
Hope the fix holds, and thanks Cryptic developers for finally fixing them!

Exactly what I came here to say. I'm EXTREMELY disappointed in this. I also thought it was a rational change in direction.
So let me reiterate. I absolutely hate that we can't salvage Rep gear. It makes no sense and is generally detrimental to getting salvage on new characters. And old characters. I was elated that I could salvage the Disco Legends gear.
You have treated a feature like a bug.
Positive note, the hangar pet changes look great.
