Before I say anything, I am going to give the benefit of the doubt and assume there is a type-o in the stats.
A 'Dreadnought' with only Lt. Level Tactical and 3 Tac Consoles? That can't be right.
I have to assume that the Lt Tactical/Command station was intended to read 'Lt. Commander Tactical/Command' right?
Look.. I know it's not always all about the stats.. but this ship is incredibly bad. Please tell me these aren't the final stats.. this is a really good looking ship, it would be a shame to see it be so tactically inept.

You can't seriously think I expected a Commander Tactical, 5 Tac consoles and a 5/3 layout?
Lets be serious here..
I never expected it to be a perfect ship or be on par with the power of the Gagarin. I was however, hoping it would not completely suck.
Even the 3 tac consoles isn't that bad.. but the bridge officer seating is abysmal. A 'dreadnought' is typically defined by 'big guns,' and needless to say this thing is pretty far from meeting that criteria.
You can make up for only 3 tac consoles with universal consoles and weapon sets that buff your energy type.
The real issue is the Boff Layout.
However.. when I made this thread, there was no 'official' thread. Since there is now an actual thread here, the mods can feel free to close this as I am sure there will be hefty discussion in the other thread.
Most ships of the class are cruisers, as they are expected to be the Ultimate Tank-style vessel.
Yes, they usually are able to sport almost every weapon imaginable in the game, but they are not supposed to be the same kind of damage-dealer as an Escort is. Their engineering-focused arrangements, tendency to have at least one hangar bay, and ample hit points and high shielding, has always indicated Dreadnoughts are support vessels. Yes, they have heavy firepower, but they are giant distractions at the end of the day.
And after looking at the seating arrangement on the Cardenas/Buran class and the Qoj, I think it might be more apt to call them
Command Dreadnought Star Cruisers, as their highest non-Engineering seating is a Science one.
Also: wow, does the Qoj actually have a Battle Cloak? That's gonna be a pretty handy trick for a ship of that size.
As @seaofsorrows points out, the main flaw in the ship is there is neither a Lt. Commander tactical nor a Lt. Commander universal. Yes, we shouldn't expect Commander tactical on an Engineering ship, but no way to get Lt. Commander? No thanks.
We are expecting a Dreadnought to be exactly that.. a dreadnought. This game does not use that term correctly, they just slap it on something when they want it to sell.
Here is the definition from dictionary.com:
You can also find more information here. If you thinka Dreadnoght is not a 'tactically oriented powerhouse' then you are incorrect. The reason that a Dreadnought does not fill this role in STO is because the developers like to use the word to sell ships. They either don't know what it means, or they just don't care.
