Elite Services Starter Pack (1,000 Zen)?

Anyone ever gotten the https://sto.gamepedia.com/Elite_Services_Starter_Pack? If so does it seem worth it to you? I've gotten 12x Bank Slots (300 Zen) and 12x Inventory Slots (400 Zen) in the past on various toons but am always pressed for space. Getting 3x the Bank Slot option and 3x the Inventory Slot option for roughly half the price seems like a good deal so I'm trying to work out if there's a catch somewhere.

Anyone?

It's cheaper than buying the slots separately. Presuming, of course, that you want to buy slots in the first place.

When it used to be the Elite Starter Pack and an account unlock then I would say that was worth it, but at this current form it is in now I won't say it is worth it. I didn't buy either and I regret not getting the previous version of it.

The original was easily great value even at full price.

As with most diet versions of products the one with the dangerously similar name the store now has is a maybe, during a sale and only if the sale is a decent discount. And only if you really need to have more bag slots.

But this is from someone that got the previous version. I daresay that someone who didn't would look more favourably on this per character one with no account bank slots.

There was an Elite Starter Pack once that gave something like this as an account wide reward. But that was quietly removed, and instead we have the Elite Services Starter Pack now.

Compared to the old pack it is a far worse deal, but compared to buying them individually, it's a good deal.
Since you can't get the old pack anymore, you are not going to get a better one - except during a sale. So if you can wait for a sale, wait for that.
Make sure you buy the Zen for it now, since there is a Bonus Zen sale going on, assuming you buy Zen for money and not via the Dilithium Exchange. If you buy it via the Dilithium Exchange, consider waiting for a Phoenix Pack Event, that usually increases the value of Dilithium (e.g. you get more Zen per Dilithium because everyone wants Dilithium to buy Phoenix Packs and get access to missed Event rewards or Phoenix Upgrades.)

it's still worth it. Elite starter pack was a steal and cryptic knew it.

I got the Elite Starter Pack for my Account. Additionally, when there was a 20% or 30% Sale on the Elite Services Pack, I picked one up for my Discovery Character. Given those and the some giveaways, I've maxed out Inventory and have a very large Personal Bank on that Character.

Yes, I calculated that with my 9 toons, I would have spent something like $300 if I had bought all that stuff separately. No surprise they removed it. Just imagine those players that have 20, 30, or more toons! Someone at Cryptic didn't do the math when they made it account wide.

Yes, the original was a great deal.

I would have understood if they left it like it was and raised the price. The problem I had was removing it and replacing it with something else with almost the exact same name.

I can't elaborate any further though since anything negative is considered 'trolling' on this board. It's a topic that we're not allowed to discuss, I would suggest the OP ask about this on reddit where people can give you an honest opinion.

Well, comparing the price to a product that isn't available anymore isn't going to help. And sales are a consideration for everything - do you have time and patience - wait for a sale. You don't? Buy it now at a premium.

So for the facts: the Service pack is cheaper than buying the components individually. Mut maybe you only want parts of the components, then you'll have to recalculate. And it consists of convenience items only. So in the end it is a question you have to ask yourself: am I willing to dish out cash (or precious grind time) for convenience? There is no objectively correct way to act.

Me, I indeed am among the lucky ones who got the old version. I will not buy this for any of my existing characters. But since I am a convenience guy, it would be very much an option for any new toon I start.

I remember hearing this joke as a young kid:

A man goes to prison and the first night while he's laying there he hears someone yell out, "44!" Followed by laughter from the other prisoners.

He thought that was pretty odd, then he heard someone else yell out, "72!" Followed by even more laughter.

"What's going on?" he asked his cellmate.

"Well, we've all heard every joke so many times, we've given them each a number to make it easier."

"Oh," he says, "can I try?"

    "Sure, go ahead."

So, he yells out "102!" and the place is dead quiet except for a few groans. Confused, he looks at his cellmate who is just shaking his head.

    "Hey, what happened?"

"Well, some people can tell a joke, some people can't."

So to save time in the Forums:

    (30 - LtM) or even

    (56 - LtM)!!!

I bought both the elite starter pack (account-wide) and the elite services starter pack for every character that I care about. It was definitely worth it in my case. The same may not be true for everyone.
When you see "TRIBBLE" in my posts, it's because I manually typed "TRIBBLE" and censored myself.

Well, it's apparent that this thread is no longer going anywhere constructive to answer the OP's question, and turning into gripefest of unfounded accusations against the developers instead. /Thread
