There's some things you can do on the Colony itself.

Yeah, there are spots on the colony itself where you can farm the colony supplies, much like farming on the dilithium asteroid.
Now a LTS and loving it.
Just because you spend money on this game, it does not entitle you to be a jerk if things don't go your way.

Doesn't matter, the nodes for farming them will be there.

Also, once you reached tier 1, the colony will start producing the supplies automatically. Not very quickly in the beginning, you can then help out with a bit of farming (which consists of the three mini games "Radiation", "Particles", "Mining"), but in the long run they will accumulate much quicker than you can probably spend them since the other resources will become the bottleneck. So it will be for a limited time only.

There is an NPC at the end of the dock (where you land when you first come to the Fleet Colony holding) standing over by the building where you can pick up the assignment for Colony Provisions.

When you activate that assignment, you will be able to see a circle around the locations on the Colony map where you can scan for them by doing the mini-games. Wiki says you can run these mini-games once an hour, but to find the locations the first few times, it is easier to have those circles by interacting with that NPC.

Note: as your Fleet Colony Holdings level up...the more locales where these mini-games can be played. You will find those, too...eventually.

Look under "Missions Involved". "Collect Batteries", "Collect Ore" and "Collect Luxury" on this Wiki Page.

The other thing you can do to gain Colony Provisions is a game called "Colony Invasion Simulation"
To run this Simulation, you need to make tokens by running a Project at the Fleet Holding page. You will need players to join in together to gain more Colony Provisions.

To be honest, the colony gathering missions are among my favorite missions in the game. I don't know why because they're not that thrilling. But I do them every day. Sometimes, I've been in fleets that don't allow you to gather (and submit them) to the colony holdings so I've, yes, sometimes just left those fleets to find another. Yeah, it means that much to me.

One thing I find fascinating is kind of addressing the OP when it was said that the colony is still at level 0. I love that more than anything because than I'm instrumental in building our colony, and I really feel like I've made an accomplishment each day when I'm filling in that colony's needs.

I will say I HATE (with the passions of the second moon of Avarice) the luxury gathering mission because no matter how hard I try it, there's some lag mechanism that makes it miserable for me on no matter what computer I've used and with whatever connection. The rest are fine and fun. The luxury one makes me want to pull my few hairs left (which I'd have more of if the luxury gathering mission didn't exist).

^Have you tried lowering your graphics settings when doing the gathering missions? I know I have to for the Omega gathering. I have to turn them all the way down. And sometimes I still get lag with them, but it's much better than even having them on medium.

Thanks I found the quests. Now how about colony experience? How does one earn this?

Earning colony xp is accomplished through slotting and contributing to colony projects under the Fleet Menu.

Wait, so even if the colony is at 0, you can still go there to farm colony provisions?
  • echattyechatty Member Posts: 5,916 Arc User
Yes, you can. I've done it on ours. There should be at least one spot for each provision on a T0 colony

Yeah, they're sometimes in weird locations, but they are always there. And once you find them on the lowest level colony, those resources are always there on any colony.
