I've lurked in mined these forums for a lot of great information, but this is my first time asking for opinions directly.
I'm looking to pick up something more interesting for Engineer Mack to fly from the c-store this weekend.
He's my main, and lives between a T6 Andromeda and a T5U Risian LX.
He's my oldest toon and the only one who's leveled all the specializations.
Minimum T5 reputation on all, with Superior traits, etc unlocked by other temporal/delta/gamma toons.
Account-wise I have a couple of handfuls of other c-store ships, but none engineering based besides the Andromeda.
I like starter packs and probably have that ship. I have any event ships since the Nand.
I'm as comfortable broadsiding as I am death-diving but still prefer agility and will give up 1 or 2 engineering console slots to make a broadsider flyable. I'm a kitbasher by nature. I don't have access to fleet resources, but have a library of XV epic/ultra weapons to support any config in whatever damage flavor. Mack is partial to phasers.
Generally play solo or on a team of 3.
We refugeed here from CoH and still team up tank/blaster/defender/controller style just from muscle memory.
We don't run TFO's outside of events.
I'm surprised if I explode, these days.
I'm not sure what else to add.
I'm a decent player and smart enough to ask further question if I didn't get you the first time.
If this seems vague it's because I'm looking for Ship recommendations more than build advice,
although build potential is an important talking point.
Thank you in advance.

The Star Cruiser line isn't bad either, it's basically the T6 Odyssey. They don't have a hangar though, if that's something that flots your boat:

Then of course there's the new-ish Miracle Worker cruiser line. Wasn't much of a fan of those, though gave one of my engineers another run with these and they actually turned out to be quite some fun:

All these are available in the C-store as a 3pack.
The default turn rate on the latter two cruiser lines are the same as the T6 Andromeda (6), the Command Battlecruiser have a slightly higher turn rate (8).
One thing that the T6 Odyssey (Star Cruiser line) has above the others imo is the unique bridge. The other two have just the default choice, but the Aquarius bridge is quite nice

Useful only of course if you tend to make use of the bridge
I haven't found command specialist seats very useful so far. At least not for how I play, apparently. I do like the ships but seeking an experience different from the Andromeda if at all possible.
I have been very curious about the Miracle Worker ships, but noted how quickly after issue they seemed to disappear from orbit. The last time I ignored that type of clue and bought a ship anyway resulted in a Scryer class that I'm a still little bitter about. (comedy) Any insights on these classes would definitely be useful and appreciated.
protoneous- Strongly considering. Seems like I've actually missed something by not having this one already, based on the build advice I've seen. Also seems like it would be useful mastery-wise no matter what color shirt a toon has. Since I found the Avenger to be a surprisingly bad-*ss little ship, being a T6 version of that it is definitely a selling point.
The 5/3 layout means that rather you want to do Beams in a broadside build or cannons/dual beams in a 'front facing' build.. it can do either. The console layout is good, the included console is a great tanking console that adds extra durability to more damaged focus builds. The trait is a 'must have' trait for any energy weapon build. It's not the quickest ship, but it's certainly not slow, the turn rate is respectable, but if you add something like the Competitive Engines then it zips around like an escort while still maintaining the durability of a cruiser. The Arbiter would absolutely be #1 on the list if I were in your position.
The Odyssey line was also mentioned, that is a really good ship but it's best that the Flagships are bought in at least a '3 pack.' They come with bundled consoles that combine to make a nice set, but are really at their best if you have access to 2 or 3 of the consoles. I use the Tactical and Operations console with the Timeline Stabilizer myself, gives a nice set bonus.
The Miracle Worker ships are also nice, the Tactical one is my favorite.. it's pretty tough, comes with a descent (though over rated) star ship trait and is a pretty good all around beam boat.
The Command Cruisers, I would avoid. The only one worth getting is the Presidio but even that has been left behind by other newer ships. Avoid the Concorde at all costs, it's one of the worst ships in the game.
I would also throw in the T6 Intel Assault Cruiser. Honestly though, this ship is really only good if you're planning to run an Aux2Bat style Energy Weapon build. Otherwise, it's bridge officer layout is a bit too restrictive to make it versatile enough for anything else. It has access to the Sovereign Skin which is a very cool looking canon Star Trek design.
Overall though.. Arbiter.. for sure. The only thing that ship doesn't do well is full on Science Build.. for any Tactical or Engineering Officer it's absolutely one of the best ships in the game.
Popped back in to ask a question regarding bundles - your advice is timely.
I will probably be buying a bundle after looking again.
I agree with your assessment of the Intel Assault and you've backed up my instincts on the Command Cruisers.
Was coming back to ask whether the Kurak and Morrigu brought the same strengths.
My Klingon loves his little escort carrier (yeah, wings are fairly useless, but the ship is fun and he looks really cool surrounded by flaming Feks ) but is in desperate need of some ship mastery love.
With bundle buying in mind, do your recommendations still stand as above?
Absolutely, yes.
The T6 Battlecruiser Bundle (Arbiter/Kurak/Morrigu) is a fantastic buy. All three ships are amazing.
I am also a big fan of the flagship bundle.
For the Miracle Worker, I only bought the Tactical One, I don't see a lot of upside to the bundle outside of cosmetic options.
For the Command Bundle, I recommend skipping all three variants.
Thanks! I ended up getting the Battle Cruiser Bundle. Very satisfied.
Thanks to everyone who took time to help!
Excellent choice!!
Enjoy your new ships.
Good choice. I have a couple toons who fly those ships full time. Go blow stuff up!
Thanks for mentioning the exchange availability. Normally I would have sat on these c-store coins or unlocked something a little more utility but I got them from Gift Cards and the gift giver (who doesn't play) looked crestfallen when I got excited about something that wasn't a new ship. --Sometimes you've got to just put that ugly sweater on, anyway, right?-- But whooped like I bought it for them when I told them I ended up with a bundle.
It worked out great for me, too.
