Greetings, I've noticed that the Pilot Specialization ability Rock and Roll is temporarily greyed-out and unusable for about 5-10 seconds after using a piloting maneuver (double-tapping to burn fuel), such as when flying the pilot class mercury escort. The greyed-out period lasts considerably longer than the time required for the fuel meter to refill.
I do not believe that Rock and Roll should be affected in any way by piloting maneuvers. Non-piloting ships do not have this limitation (since they lack piloting maneuvers and fuel meters), so why should a piloting vessel have such a restriction? Clearly this is a minor bug, but for a captain that uses piloting maneuvers frequently it essentially makes it impossible to use Rock and Roll during combat.

The imbalance is that non-pilot vessels do not have this restriction. Those that possess Rock and Roll can use it as intended, whereas piloting vessels almost always have it greyed-out simply due to making use of their inherent piloting maneuvers. That doesn't seem quite right. It essentially makes it where piloting vessels gain significantly less of a benefit from the Pilot specialization than non-piloting vessels. Anyway, that is just my take on it.
Try one of the other Specializations as active on Pilot ships...so it can work together with the Pilot maneuvers buttons.
Not sure how to advise you there because I haven't had enough time in battle to look at anything else. Maybe one of the guys will be by to give you advice with that.

"After activating a Pilot Maneuver player will be briefly immune to damage. After performing such a maneuver player must wait a short time before doing another one."
So...you actually have 2 waits on Pilot Maneuvers... .one for the immunity timer, the other for the bar to refill.

Scroll down about half way...past the picture of the Pilot Raptor to read the stuff on Pilot Maneuvers.

The first icon on this particular "buff bar" picture.....with the little lock on it.
I think on the Fed side all that stuff would be blue not orange...
actually, I have no idea, I don't play Fed much at all.
Just look for that little lock...that is the icon for the Immunity lockout timer.

Well, all I can advise is: now that you know what it looks like, watch for the immunity timer, how it effects your Pilot ship. You will see it does NOT go together as well as you would think (or hope for).
