VIL: "Choose a Faction" Loop.

Having a slight Groundhog day moment and it's driving me insane...

First mission to the Alpha goes perfectly. Board ship, kill ships, kill dread - done. Then I get to the "Choose Faction" hail. The screen appears, I pick the Klingons (better fashion sense) and then..... back to Weyounn and the White cutscene. I return to the battle and get another hail asking me to choose a faction (again) but with the Romulan screen.

I'm stuck in a loop - I can't get any other option but to answer the hail; Cant fire on ships, exit the mission or transwarp anywhere. All I can do is answer the hail and pick from a Romulan screen over and over.

I've tried to leave the map and even exit the game with a force verify - all that does is drop me back at the start of the mission and ends on the same Romulan/choose a faction loop.

Essentially... I'm stuck. Am I here forever picking a side? :(

    I heard this can be resolved by replaying the mission, selecting the same faction that you chose the first time, and after confirming the choice, using the Transwarp button on your minimap. If you don't have Sol/Qo'nos available, check if you have transwarp to Defera and use that.

    I've seen that mentioned elsewhere, but transwarp is greyed out. The only option I have to leave the map in any way is to fly off it - and that begins Groundhog day all over again.

    I get the feeling this'll be a delete and start again scenario :/

    Yep, exactly the same thing is happening to me. Both Defera and Sol are greyed out too. If I log out and back in it just reruns the mission and hangs at the end again.

    I want to add to this one - I am experiencing the same issue. I have attempted all of the things mentioned as well as completely deleting the install of STO and re-installing - same effect. I have recorded a video of it if there is somewhere that I can upload it. The one really odd thing that I noticed was that I am getting the Romulan "chose your alliance" screen - not anything with purple tomes or Jem'Hadar on it. Not sure if that will help any at all. I submitted several bug reports on it - ticket 180806-001030 is the one that I got a response from PWE on.

    Hopefully it's a bug that can get fixed soon enough!

    With it being so early in the mission and easy enough to repeat, I ended up just caving and made a second Jem'Hadar and it all worked out fine second time around.

    Yeah, I did exactly the same with the same result. No problems on my second Jem'Hadar.

    I finally got a reply to my ticket about this.

    It said it sounded like I'd encountered a game play bug but they were unable to assist and recommended posting a bug report on the forums and then check back for any official updates.

    Slightly worrying that they cant help with a bug that stops the game dead in its tracks, especially if you hit something like this further down the storyline where you cant just restart a new char and get back to where you were quickly.
