TXAA unavailable on 64-bit client

So, the 64-bit client quietly went live with today's patch. (26th April)
Only MSAA and FXAA are available as Antialiasing options. I find that TXAA looked much better than either of them, so I am hoping support will be added soon.

I had so many graphical errors today since the patch! Game keeps telling me my graphics card is unsupported (worked fine yesterday). This computer is less than 2 months old. NVIDIA GeForce GTX 710. How is that not supported? Game forced me to use lower settings, and every time I tried to make it look better, the screen when flashing crazy so that I couldn't do a thing. I can't be the only one this happened to. Come on PWE! We need a fix.

Workaround would be to revert to the 32-bit client:

This must be on the tribble server cause the live server doesnt have any option for x64/x32..Also if I remeber correctly x64 is launching with ViL...

TXAA is an outdated form of anti aliasing and does a lot of cheating to smoothe out the picture, that's why it's much less demanding than MSAA.

My guess would be that changing to a 64-bit client, may mean that we are getting either something with better graphics. Or they are changing how the game uses hardware resources, for example allowing to use more resources.

My guess is that there is a reason TXAA is no longer available because of it's being phased out.

Uh where is the option to use this x64 bit version on Holodeck?! I dont see any when I login..And I am sure they said x64 is gonna be launched with ViL..

EDIT: FOUND IT..But damn its causing issues in terms of performance..Kinda slower for some reason..

Are you perhaps confusing TXAA with FXAA? FXAA is a cheap and ugly form of post-process antialiasing. TXAA combines MSAA and post process effects.
MSAA is pretty good, but it only smooths the edges of objects. TXAA smooths the whole image without making it look like trash the way FXAA does.

The loss of this feature is a significant downgrade, but like you said, I suspect they do not plan to implement it in the 64-bit client, and will drop the 32-bit client in the near future.

As of now x64 has some issues that need sorting and I am guessing that this was a mistaken roll out by the team..So far as I have played the 32 bit is more stable than 64..
