So, yeah. This is happening with the NPCs sat on this specific chair on the TOS Constitution interior. Also noticed occurring with NPCs in the Return to Babel episode during the conference.

It's the way it has been for a very long time now. Safe to assume that's how it will be for the foreseeable futuren :/

That one guy to your right after beaming onto K-13; I'd wondered why no one ever fixed that. If it's one bad chair mesh to blame for all that, could someone please get on that?!

Yeah, it seems to be a specific chair model that's used everywhere on TOS ships/station interiors. It's just that one specific chair that needs fixing.

Just giving this bump incase it's been forgotten. I'd really like this fixed please. It's rather jarring when I'm using my TOS stuff.

It wasn't forgotten, it's just not worth fixing. AoY was released in this state and it was the first exposure to console players. Cryptic came to the conclusion that this is perfectly acceptable to represent the game with. Of course it is out of pressing time issues not because they want it that way - Taco said back then they have 'much bigger fish to fry'.

The underlying issue fwiw is that the engine isn't able to let NPCs sit on chairs. Devs have to manually place the NPCs and let them do a 'sit' emote and just hope it works, just like you sit your character on tables or chairs without interaction node in-game. The difference is once the devs did that in a map they can't go back to correct it, appearantly.

Yet they seem to be fine largely everywhere else. And I refuse to believe it's not as simple as readjusting the character. These chairs were fine before even when the expac came out for me. It's only recently occurred in the last few months.

It most likely is a matter of readjusting the NPCs. But all of them, and nobody got time to do that. Plus, minor alterations in unrelated things seem to affect them as well. Prior they weren't in the floors all the time, but they haven't been sitting proper on chairs in years. And that happened on it's own for unrelated reasons, I doubt someone adjustet the position to suddenly put all NPCs in the floor.
