Why not make Retrain Tokens avalible for Dilithium purchase?

I was thinking, with the past few years ive played Star Trek Online and many mistakes ive made as a new player and even new mistakes now, id like to shed some light on the topic of Retrain Tokens. Its an idea ive had for a long time after spending more then my fair share just to reset my skill tree, Lately ive opted to restart my character to avoid spending money i did not have. At a small price of loosing out on Former achivements and lockbox exclusives. This hasnt been the best playthrough for my main character to say the least. But enough about me

Id like to help New players, and old find a better alternitive. Making the game play a bit more enjoyable, with out the cost of real money, Why not make the retain tokens an ingame purchase either with Energy Credits or Refined Dilithium. Most of the previous games ive played have made retraining a bit easier to do, why should STO be any exception? I know, Its only 300 zen points but you still have to pay ten dollars. Whether or not this change happens or adjust to fit a ten dollar expence, is unclear. But for the sake of having this experiance ruin game play in my time of playthroughs, i can assure the developers of STO that bringing the Tokens into a in game currentcy would help newer player avoid the possibility of grinding their characters back up

I'm not against this, but as long as story episodes, queues and your first set of ships are all free, Cryptic needs to charge for other things.

You get a few tokens free as you level up. Subscribers and Lifetime Subscribers get additional free tokens.

Also, you already can buy tokens for dil, through the dilithium exchange. dil > zen > tokens.

Actually you get one respec token for free even as a f2p. Additional are earned as you level a toon or purchased. Personally I wouldn't mind them going to dilithium though I've honestly not ran into a situation where I've needed more than the ones I get from leveling since I subscribed.

    No, you don't.

    the wiki
Free-to-Play players wont receive a free Captain Retrain token. They have to buy it.

I have a few characters that received one when they added the Miracle Worker specialization. Perhaps that is what you are thinking of.

Has that changed on PC? Even non-subscribers used to receive several tokens as you leveled up.

I've been a LTS since 2014 so I haven't had a reason to keep track.

It's been that way for the year I've been playing. Can't speak for any time before.

Actually, it is. 300 zen in dil at a 260ish dil per zen. 300x260 dil = price in dil.

Skill tree respecs should be free, just like literally every other respeccable stats in the game.

The biggest issue is having to pay for something that most other MMOs or games ingeneral Do for in game currentcy. Ya, you can get free tokens as a sub or lifetimer, but not every one has that luxury. Dilithium trade makes this issue easier, but not for lower level players. Most their Dilithium goes right into the fleet, If they want to keep their spot as a Fleet member. Bringing The tokens in game and off the Zen Market would make Respecing Easier for lower level players.

If the part I italicized is the case, then they need to dump that Fleet and find a good one.

    Bad advice.

I run my fleet, and I don't force anyone to pay Dil. Some still do, but nearly 90% of my Dil income from 12 toons goes into the fleet, and the rest on my main.....so I should leave my fleet should I??

Fact of the matter is people hoard Dil as it is. The opposite, kick those who refuse to help out, could also be applied. This is a no-win scenario.

I disagree. Fleet owner is not fleet member. Owners of tiny fleets often do need to put in much more dil than other members for the chance to be the space king. That's your choice.

No GOOD fleet extorts large weekly dil taxes from its members with threats. It's fair for a fleet to expect a certain amount of contributions once to gain access gear, and to contribute enough to replace the fleet provisions they use. Beyond that, perhaps some small ongoing support but not "most of their dil" income as said above. Demanding most of their dil makes you a space tyrant.

(I'm in two good fleets. I've contributed several million dil to their holdings over 3.5 years, but that was my choice, not space taxes.)
