This happened to me 3 times this week, I'll explain it better. When I go into Infected Space Advanced, and the team buffs up at the left transformer, if the team is an high DPS one, I literally see the game freezing and stay still for minutes before crashing.
This also happens into Tholian Red Alert, but it doesn't happen in medium and low DPS teams. Btw, the game is always running rock solid @ 60fps in FullHD 1080p maxed out in every map I play, those freezes only happen in those circumstances and those maps.
Any idea? This is happening since the patch of 02/01/2018.
PC Specs:
Intel Core i5 6500
AMD R9 380x 4GB GDDR5
HyperX 8 GB DDR4 2133Mhz
Samsung 850 EVO 250GB SSD
Windows 10 Pro x64
Hmmm...out of the subset of "high DPS" players you run the game with, are you the only one that sees this freeze? Or is everyone seeing it?
OMG, what a nightmare it could be to fault isolate.
And a mess once the casual players catch up to you DPS guys (as far as Mastery, purchases on the Ex...etc..)....if it turns out to be a combo of animations on the free ships and or lockbox stuff that has been coming out the past month.

At the moment, after many tells and chats around dps channels, even on Diamond and 75k, noone freezes apparently, just few people reported me cases of rubberbanding in high dps runs.
I use to be one of those "high dpsers", but since this problem I cannot do a proper run with my fleetmates or dps guys. It's starting to become very frustrating lol.
Anyway, yesterday night I tried an ISA with everything at the lowest graphic setting possible, with no results, the game freezed again on the left transformer team buffing up sequence (it was another high dps run).
At that moment I tried other 2 ISAs, one with my normal graphic settings, and one with the lowest ones, but with a low dps team (they were just PuGs). Results? Everything was super smooth @ 60fps.
Why would it make a difference if you are in a PUG? Yeah, this is weird.
I am seeing rubberbanding just flying around sector and walking in First City and Ganalda and Drozana (Omega game locations). Also, only seen this the past week or so.
I wonder what else changed?

Well, because going with pugs won't make the freeze happen usually, since you will face most of the times low dps ships, and at the left transformer will not happen the simultaneously team buffing up.
Indeed the game didn't freeze in these circumstances.
New information.
Guess what, it wasn't my PC or whatever. In those freezing instances I was using the full bajoran space set, just for test's sake, then I decided to switch to my normal setup to test again in another high dps ISA just 30 minutes ago. The current setup I'm using now is the Colony Deflector, Romulan Engines, Fleet Spire Core and Innervated Shields.
Result: not even a glimpse of rubberbanding of freezing, everything was going smooth and nice.
Incredible... I will confirm this with other instances and let you know, maybe I found an unknown bug or whatever.

Out of the group of players you asked....only YOU see the freeze on buffs.
And IF you are going to go down the road and blame "buffing" is causing the freeze....
The way to figure it out.... is to get it to repeat consistently.
And look for which buff or combination of buffs causes the freeze. Right now, you are looking at all buffs...not something specific. You know what I am saying?
Test outside of a mission...say with a group of friends on PvP map, might work in a social zone of some kind (Fleet system space?). It is quieter, and should be easier to notice graphics and such.
Fly around together and then have your friends (or fleet) start hitting those buffs up. Watch what causes freeze. That will be painstaking and slow but it will isolate it to "something".
Another thing you can try: Did you switch ships or a part of your own build in the last 2 weeks? Revert to the old stuff. Does it freeze...or no?
Oh, and check to see if your friends switched something, too.

The problem is the buff sequence of those freezing instances was too random. I mean, I don't know their builds, even if I could replicate them to test out it would take me too much time that I don't have at the moment . Anway, I only switched to Bajoran ship. Today I will try again some instances with the previous ship, the Engineering Pilot Escort, with and without the Bajoran Space set, and with and without the dps team. Let's see.

I may send the whole entire thing to the Salvage heap and just wait for the next FE set.

as soon as it starts and every buffs up it dies (my whole machine dies)
even lower queues struggle (but can still play)
I changed to the quantum set and all is good
i spent a long long time playing to get the bajoran full set & ship and it dont work...
