We still know nothing about the Tzenkethi aside from their appearance, and this is already the final battle?
The Tzenkethi are a xenophobic, isolationist, species, ruled by a paranoid, and "all powerful", autarch, who uses propaganda to blame The Federation, and the Alliance, for all of the nation's problems. They have fought, and lost, several wars with both the Federation and Klingon Empire, and are currently waging a war of genocide in a far off part of the Alpha Quadrant in an attempt to remove what they called the Drantzuli.
Despite the highly controlled lives of the Tzenkethi, several have shown sympathetic tendencies to the worlds they are attacking.
So basically the Tholians.
And exactly /when/ have the Tholians shown any sympathy towards ANYTHING? Point it out to me, please?
Too much rinse and repeat! The story side of it is okay but I am literally bored by the time I get to the ground point, which still has another mess of rinse and repeat after it!
I quite enjoyed it. Along with the reveals. It was definitely rinse/repeat space battles and ground, but I still enjoyed the action. Playing a sci captain in a heavy raider was interesting. Almost blowing up, but not quite at least two times was thrilling. Can't wait to try it later on my main acct with one of my other sci captains in a Chronos Dread.
Now a LTS and loving it.
Just because you spend money on this game, it does not entitle you to be a jerk if things don't go your way.
I have come to the conclusion that I have a memory like Etch-A-Sketch. I shake my head and forget everything.
Well I was wrong. They finally did a Featured Episode without a blasted mini-game.
Oh, and what was that Weekly Featured Episode Reward? A Spec Point choice that was Account Bound and did not auto open upon selection like yesterday's Anniversary 2 Spec Points gift.

That l must repeat the words that come without my knowledge.'
Well we now pretty much know what is going to get a face-lift redesign.

Tholian Doffs man.
Okay, point. I really wondered how those fit into the storyline, honestly, though. Every Tholian you ever see in game is hostile to some extent, even their 'ambassador' in the temporal arc is saying the temporal accords don't go far enough, and that they'll police it to whatever extent beyond that they see fit.
Also... wow at the reveals. o.O The Dominion come 'in peace' with guns blazing and a big enough fleet to take large scale action. Wonder what they know about the Hur'q that we don't. o.O
I'm still unsure about the relationship of the bugs to the ships. Are they Hur'q, tenders, or something else?
Also, I did the mission in an escort ship, and didn't particularly enjoy it. Too much time changing targets, or circling a swarmer that was following me. Occasionally I'd get a swarm in front of me that I could vaporize, but not nearly often enough.
Next time, I'm taking a science ship in. Between BFAWs and gravity wells, they should be a lot more managable.

I got a universal tech upgrade. I'm banking spec points.

If you went through the side questions in the mission, it's speculated that the bugs are there to 'prepare' worlds for the Hur'q's arrival.
Also take note that the Tzenkethi refer to both the bugs and the Hur'q ships as Drantzuli... hmm.

On the first go with my AoY ENG still docked at pretty much Rare MKXII gear it was pretty much manageable towards the end..With My main ENG at UR MKXIV it was all too easy to rip through everything..Agreeded they over did the wash rinse repeat with the first phase of the mission and the ground part but the ending made up for it well..
Guessed as much this was gonna be a lead up to ViL
The battle at the end where we had the Hur'q come in and you had Bajorans, Romulans, Klingons, Federation, and finally Dominion come in reminded me of the last mission of the Iconian war..The Hur'q being a foe that even the Klingon fear is a pleasant twist indeed..And seeing the federation flag ship back in the midst of things was a nice way to let players know that this is going to be crazy, plus the last time we saw the Enterprise was at the end of the Iconian war..The Hur'q are gonna be interesting in ViL and I have a feeling we are gonna be getting a story line similar to the Iconian war..And damn the NPC alliance ships get hammered badly by hte Hur'q with the amount of ships having their cores breached..This ending reminded me about the transition to the Iconian War..Looking forward to ViL..
Was hoping for a continuation along the exploration, mystery, space drama/opera lines that the Lukari introduction episodes started off with, but instead it's more kill everything and war. Have not enjoyed any Tzenkethi anything so far, and for a great war season the Iconian arc was awesome.
One small quibble. Just before Commander Salish lets you know that she is detecting a bunch of new contacts coming in and everything has degenerated into a massive dust-up with ships blowing up everywhere, what do we respond with?
"Red Alert!"
I think we've been at red alert for quite a while by this point. If not your allies must think you are "Mr. Magoo in Space" or something...
> @natemarineaux said: > I had a blast with this episode!
Me too! Now that everything makes sense, I also like the Lukari arc... starting out with a mission of exploration, discovery and mystery and now culminating in a blazing crescendo heralding Victory is Life. The surprise entry of one of my most favorite DS9 characters was just the cherry on the cake Good job, Cryptic!
trying to not stress out as I hope and prey the Patching finishes soon enough I can get ONE CAPTAIN through the new ep BEFORE the servers go down again.
Couldn't finish the patch at the library so trying at the supermarket.
...
update; not gonna make it so I will completely and totally miss out on that Week One reward of those Romulan Plasma Shields. *pained sigh*
Why did it have to be 5 GB?!? At least it is going faster than it was Tuesday! But getting about 10% of the patch for a half an hour, the servers will be Down Again before than even finishes.
#%&< it's gonna be a long day...
I really wanted them shields...

Also needed a T6 Science Cruiser, that can wear any Science or Cruiser skin.

Indeed, more of that is always welcome. And may in fact be in the offing for future episodes - consider these pieces of advice from Sun Tzu...
Know thy self, know thy enemy. A thousand battles, a thousand victories.
If you know the enemy and know yourself you need not fear the results of a hundred battles.
...referenced by Sky Marshal Tehat Meru in Verhoeven's adaptation of 'Starship Troopers'...
To fight the bug, we must understand the bug.
After all, we have almost certainly not seen the full Hur'q ORBAT (ORder or BATtle); those swarmers might just be their vanguard/scouting elements. Discovering their complete force composition and agenda would be good fodder for the exploration and mystery that would be so welcome.

I don't think you'd want the Typhon for this, it has Worf in command.
